Chapter 37

After lunch jane went out to the front of the ship near where luffy usually sits she looked out towards the water she could see a small island that looked like it was mostly trees as they got closer the more she was able to identify the island as night began to set in. They got to the island just as it became really dark jane heard someone walk up behind her she turned to see zoro she smiled "dinner is ready" he said she nodded and began following him into the ship as zoro stepped through the door she thought she heard something and turned to look but saw nothing but darkness and forestry she turned and went into the ship after quickly eating dinner jane started back up to the deck "hey jane what's wrong you seem a little off lately" Jane turned to see usopp "this island it gives me a weird feeling" she said usopp nodded I know what you mean" he said Jane finished talking to usopp before going out to the deck all she could see was darkness she jumped up to the landing above the doors into the ship she leaned against the wall behind her as she peered into the darkness she saw something glowing and was about to stand up when she felt a small pain in her next she reached for it and found a tranquilizer dart "oh shit" she said before passing out cold. she woke up in a room with the rest of the straw hat crew "where the hell are we?" She mumbled before grabbing her head "stupid tranquilizer gave me a splitting headache" Jane complained she heard someone mumble and looked around as one by one the straw hats woke up Jane was standing by the door trying to figure out a way to open it she reached into her pants pocket and pulled out a few random objects a pin, wire , a thread, a pencil, a metal hair pin, some rubber and a paper clip she put the items down on the ground "why don't we just kick it open or punch it" nami asked "every time someone touches the door they get an electric shock" Jane said "but luffy's made of rubber it shouldn't affect him did I also forget to mention that it's sea stone and the walls are really thick" she said she picked up the paper clip and put some rubber on it tying it with the string she did the same on the hair clip before holding the rubber and working on the lock the crew waited and talked "son of a bitch" Jane shouted dropping the clip and pin sitting on her ass she shook her hands out "are you okay?" Nami asked "i thought my headache was already bad now it's worse" Jane said standing up she leaned against the wall closing her eyes "I have an idea" robin said everyone except Jane looked over robin grew extra arms on luffy's luffy held the bits and robin guided him Jane was in the back of the room sitting on the floor "are you sure your okay?" Jane looked up to see zoro she nodded "yeah I'm fine" she said zoro sat down beside her "you know you don't have to put on the brave face" he said she nodded "I'm not though" she said zoro chuckled before putting and arm over her shoulders she leaned her head against him as they waited for the door to become unlocked there was a click at the door and luffy pulled it opened the electric barrier still on the door they cautiously exited the room they walked down the hallway "where in the hell are we?" Sanji asked "I don't know but it's weird" nami said as they walked further and further down the hallway they came to a final door luffy opened it with caution they could see a large village on the outside "what the hell" zoro said the straw hats snuck out everyone in the village wore masks they were creepy and some scary ones "why did they capture us" Franky asked "that doesn't matter right now what matters is getting out of here" nami said everyone agreed and they looked around in attempt to sneak away Jane winced before groaning zoro turned towards her "what's wrong?" He asked she grabbed her pounding head it was making her dizzy she tilted her head towards the ground zoro took ahold of her "guys we have to get out of here now" zoro said everyone turned around "what's happening" nami asked zoro shrugged chopper came over and felt her forehead "the electric shock from that door was to much for her we have to get her to the ship for treatment or she'll die" chopper said in panic "chopper chopper calm down" nami said chopper calmed down and the made a plan to escape as they started moving through the town zoro helping jane walk. zoro felt someone pull on him he and Jane both were pulled into a building one of the masked villagers were in there "please let me help her" they said zoro looked at the villager suspiciously "what the village issuing to travellers is wrong even if they are pirates your normal medicine won't have any affect" they said "there is a toxin in the electricity here" the villager said zoro nodded before allowing the villager to treat Jane "my name is Lucy" she said "zoro this is jane" he said Lucy smiled before she pulled out a syringe she walked over "whoa whoa what's in that" zoro said "the neurotoxin" she said "How do I know your not lying" zoro said "zoro just let her do it" Jane said almost barely a whisper zoro took a hold of her hand "alright fine" he said before nodding at Lucy who injected the syringe into James neck Jane winced and took in a deep breath before lucky removed the needle she took off her mask revealing her face it had scars spaced around and was a little bruised "who did that to you?" Jane mumbled trying to keep her eyes open Lucy looked down "the reason we wear these masks is so others can't see our marks its from our parents and all of our elders so anyone older than us get to beat us as the please" Lucy said "anyway I will help you escape from here as well as your friends" she said zoro took a hold of Jane once more and followed Lucy who put her mask back on they found the crew and zoro explained that Lucy was good and was going to help them They all followed her until they were out of the village "I'll return you to your ship" Lucy said just as they heard someone shout "LUCY WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU!" Jane looked over towards the village "you go we should be fine" Jane said Lucy nodded and pointed out the way they had to go Jane found she was able to walk again she turned as they started leaving and Jane saw as someone hit Lucy knocking her down they started beating her "no" Jane said she was about to turn around and run to Lucy but zoro grabbed her "Jane no we just escaped from there we don't need to get caught again" he said holding on to her "then let me get caught I won't stand for that" Jane said trying to jump from his arms "Jane" she heard luffy say her name she listened "don't worry we're not leaving it like this for their lifestyle" luffy said "but right now we have to focus on making sure you recover" luffy said Jane sighed and looked at Lucy once again zoro picked up Jane to make sure she wouldn't try to run off zoro and jane walked a little behind the crew jane yawned slightly "you can sleep if you want" he said she shook her head "I'm ok" she said quietly resting her head on his chest soon they came to the beach where the ship was Jane yawned again zoro refused to put her down everyone boarded the ship zoro took Jane straight to bed laying her down he sat on the edge of the bed Jane looked at him before moving to her side she put her hand on his back he glanced over his shoulder at her "are you ok?" Jane asked he nodded "just thinking" he said she nodded and undressed before putting on the crop top and shorts at the bottom of the bed she laid down again on her side a little closer to zoro she put her hand on his shoulder and looked up at him trying not to fall asleep he looked at her again "are you waiting for me?" He asked she nodded he chuckled "your such a child needing me to keep you company while you sleep" zoro said jane frowned a bit "it's your fault I've gotten used to you sleeping there" she said zoro chuckled again before pulling off his shirt and laying down to face her she looked into his eyes before placing a hand on his cheek she stroked his face then his hair before she closed her eyes and fell asleep she woke up sometime later zoro was no longer there she frowned "what's with him" she mumbled before getting up she stretched and felt re energized she went to the dresser and pulled out a low cut tee shirt, some dark jeans, and picked up her jacket from the dresser she got dressed and grabbed her guns before going out to the deck the sun was still high but no one was outside so she went to the kitchen where she saw sanji cooking "oh hey you feel better?" Sanji asked Jane nodded "everyone's in the Aqua lounge" he said Jane nodded "thanks" she said sanji nodded and Jane went into the lounge she saw the crew talking about how they were going to deal with the village ways Jane sat next to zoro who took a hold of her hand where the crew couldn't see "if you don't mind me interrupting they're electricity has a toxic element in it so if they used any kind of weapons with the electric current in it then luffy is the only one who can face off against that " Jane said "she's right" Franky said the crew started going on having that in mind Jane looked at zoro for a second he seemed to still have something on his mind Jane heard a loud crash and jumped up "what was that" usopp asked "I'm gonna go find out" Jane said before anyone could say anything she ran from the room "I better go keep her out of trouble" zoro said getting up and following after her Jane ran to where the noise came from, the kitchen "sanji are you ok?" She asked walking over he was tied up on the floor his mouth covered with a piece of fabric she gasped "sanji" she went to help his he signalled with his head she turned around she held her pistol up blocking the sword that was about to come down on her "don't think you can cut me down the easily" Jane said she pushed up knocking the man back "sanji I'll buy you new cooking knives" she said picking up one sanji looked upset Jane blocked the mans attacks with the knife and finally caused him to fly back Jane turned and began working on the ropes sanji made a feature again just as Jane went to turn around the blade was stopped by another she smirked and began working on the ropes again she pulled the fabric from his mouth she picked up the knife again and cut the ropes the sound of clashing metal in the background sanji looked at her "my poor knife" he said Jane giggled "sorry" she said finally they heard a loud crash and they turned around to see the masked man was on the ground zoro put his katanas away "its a good thing I came to keep you out of trouble" he said Jane smiled sanji just went back to his work jane grabbed a hold of the unconscious mans arms and started dragging him across the floor zoro rolled his eyes and helped her deal with the guy they dragged him to the deck the rest of the crew came out "what do we do with him?" Jane asked "tie him up and leave him for now" nami said they did as nami said before talking about the plan again "alright so usopp and brook you'll stay here and watch after the ship" nami said the two nodded and hung out "alright guys lets go!" Luffy announced Jane took ahold of the tied up attacker and made him walk keeping his mouth gagged as they headed towards the village Jane quickly made sure she had her swords and pistols before leaving.
