I was heavily panting as I stood on the edge of Cliff Meromb overlooking hundreds of dead bodies of fae. They have all succumbed to death for what they believed was right. Was I really fit to lead the military of Etheria, when I can't even guarantee our success over a single army of orcs?

"Are you done already?"

I looked over at Thaddeus standing beside with the same stone cold look on his face. Not even an ounce of sympathy in his eyes. I guess that's what happens when you have been on the frontlines of wars too many times to even count. "Are you done feeling sorry for them?"

He looked at me with a mocking gaze and continued, "They are not dead because they followed you or because you could not protect them. They decided to fight till the end to make sure everyone back home can live their lives in peace, to not worry about the future and just live. They deserve to be respected not to be pitied."

He was right, but I still couldn't shake the overwhelming guilt washing over me and making me doubt my abilities. I really wasn't sure if trying to fulfil the prophecy was a good move, it was not about me anyway it was for the real Lavinia Kane, the one who could've easily led them to victory.

I looked back at Kayvon, who was sitting on the ground with an injured right leg and Iris healing his leg with her magic. He grinned at me with one of his heart – stopping smiles, then glared at Thaddeus and said, "What my dear old brother is trying to say is, we haven't lost yet so why are you looking so dejected Levi! You still haven't defeated that bastard like you promised mother you would. So gear up, we have a battle to win!"

That's right, I may not be as strong as Lavinia but my friends had my back. With them defeating a freaking dragon should be a piece of cake right?

Oh, who am I kidding! I wasn't even born here, I ended up here when I was supposed to be at a job interview back home right about now.

So hi, this is Kate Meyers in the body of a freaking magical warrior, Lavinia Kane, who is still missing by the way. And I am supposed to fulfil a prophecy about an apocalypse or something.

I am sure you all are confused as hell so let's back up a little bit.

It all began on that really horrible day...
