It was the end of summer so it should still be bright out, but today of all days it had to be dark and gloomy. Today I have to go to my new school, Wartlend. Wartlend is the only private school, and my parents gladly let me go. The only problem is that I have to stay there till June, without coming home unless there was a break.
New school, new me? Yeah right no one likes me. Not even my parents wanted me to go to a regular school. So they send me and all my stuff to a weird school for snotty rich people.
The wind blew hard against my face and it made me shiver. I looked up and down the street looking for the bus. Not seeing the bright yellow tin can, I went back to looking at the dead trees across the road.
The branches were thin and dark. They wove around one another looking like abstract art. The wind blew making a small whistle in the trees. The wind sounded like it was calling me; without me even knowing a was slowly walking across the dark road. The more I walked the better I could see the thin broken branches, till I was snapped out of my trance by the loud sound of the bus engine.
The bus was at the stop sign at the end of the street, so I ran back to my side of the road and  stood at my broken mail box. Once the bus came into view, it didn't look like a regular bright yellow bus. It looked like it was rusted all over, not even the slightest color of yellow was on it. The bus was dark brown, almost black.
The doors opened, I looked up the small set of stairs to see who is my driver. He looked lifeless. The man was looking out the window with a cigar in his mouth and he had huge bags under his eyes. Then I hear a small grumble and that was my signal to get on the bus. So I did. I walked up the small stairs and turned to look at the isle.
The driver didn't wait for me to get a seat, cause when I was half way down the isle,he had started the bus and continued driving. I didn't mind but when I walked down the bus, the boys and girls all stopped laughing and talking to give me a look.
I can see that they are visually disgusted and payed no attention to me and went back to their conversations. I felt kinda intimidated so I decided to not sit in the back with them. So I sat one or two seats in front of the kids.
When I sat down I gave myself a small sigh of annoyance and relief. Slowly I rested my head on the window feeling the cold glass on my warm face and looked at the moving scenery that we were slowly passing.
It felt like every five minutes a new kid would walk on the bus. Soon there was no room, so I hoped there was no more stops so no one could sit next to me.
Just then the bus came to a stop and a boy my age walked on. Him, me and a coupler other kids seemed to be in the same age group the rest seemed older. The boy looked around and we accidentally made eye contact. When I saw his blue eyes I quickly turned my head to look out the window. After a couple seconds of me looking out the window hoping he would get in a seat of three, but I felt a weight suddenly appear on my seat, this made me slowly turn my face to see the same boy.
We made quick eye contact again but we both looked away in awkwardness and small blushes crept on our faces.
After a little while in awkward silence he spoke.
"I'm Rivers Malch" he said with a quiet calm voice
"Josephine Feene" I replied not looking at him still and speeding quietly as well but a little bit faster.
This was the only interaction the whole ride. All I could hear was the boys in the back yelling and being obnoxious. The girls where giggling and putting on makeup and spraying perfume.
After what felt like days, but was around a hour we arrived at our new school.
I looked out the window to see that our school looked like a huge funeral home. It looked hundred years old, and I could see some huge cracks on the outside of the building. All the windows were tinted so you can't see anything inside, and there were some dried dead vines on some pillars at the front. All the parked cars looked broken and old as well.
Soon one by one everyone piled out of the bus. River and I were the last two on the bus. He got off the seat first then I followed. We both walked off the buss and stopped at the door with all of the other students.
All of us waited at the door till a woman, who had white hair but looked quiet young. She was followed by a man with grey and white hair, he definitely was old.
"Welcome. We hope you have a great year here. We haven't had this as a school in a long time. We are happy to get the opportunity to teach all of you" the woman chirped with a smile "This is our headmaster Val Hurtch. He wants you to call him Mr. Hurtch. I will guid you through the school and then show you your living quarters " she added then the old man went through the doors.
After a minute or two she opened the doors and lead us through the school. I saw there was so many kids already here. They must have had a different bus come and get them.
We walked through long hallways that were dark but it wasn't super dark. We saw that the classrooms were all grey but different in their own ways. I've seen so many doors where she didn't show us. I didn't think about it at the time, but then we were guided outside to a whole other building. She instructed the girls to go left and boys right.
I followed my group of girls and we went down the hall to see a room with couches and a small library and tables. On the tables there were pieces of paper. We looked and I saw that we had to share a room with two other girls. I was on the top floor and it seemed to be the last door at the end of the hall.
I opened the door to see the dark room but it was separated into thirds.  There were luggage on the beds and I saw mine. My section of the room was next to a huge window, which I was kinda happy to see.
The rooms where like the classrooms grey and kinda dark. I sat on the bed looking around I saw there was a desk and a chair next to all the beds and we hall have small bells next to our beds. Just then two girls burst through the door and look at me. We looked at each other for a couple seconds till one went to find her suitcase and soon the other one did that too.
We all put our luggage under our beds. We all wore the same grey and black uniform. We all were on our beds and silently looking at each other till the one with bright blonde hair and pale skin spoke up.
"Well to cut the tension, I am Kathrine Garnth. Nice to meet you and I hope we can be happy friends. " her blue eyes looked like they sparkled when she told us her name.
"I'm Emmeine Marce. I hope we can at least get along for these next nine to ten months " the girl with light brown hair. Her chocolate colored eyes glared at me and this made me panic but then I cleared my throat.
"I'm Josephine Feene. Nice to meet you" a said with a small smile.
Kathrine smiled wide and she looked like she got an idea.
"Oh! We should give each other a nick name! Like mine with me Kathy, yours can be Marcy, and you can be Jose!" She squeals. This made Emmeline smile and she nodded in a agreement. The two looked at me and I just smiled hoping they think I just agree.
