You are a runner, well the thing is you enjoy being fit, you enjoy watching your friends try to get that summer body that everyone yearns for but never quite reaching it because they either gave up or let the snacks consume them. Everyday around 2pm you would go for a jog, usually taking the same route never wanting to get lost since your neighborhood wasnt the best neighborhood in town. You never wanted to see what happened in alleyways or behind and inside of abandoned building. You would always stay on the path where the most amount of people roamed daily.

Every weekday was the same, wake up eat, watch cartoons, work out in your small basement then finish it off with lunch and a run. Saturday and Sunday you would change it up a bit because it was just more fun that way, rain or shine you'd always keep running. The neighbors knew you well and always wondering how you managed to keep such a good routine going depsite the weather and things that could possibly ruin that routine. You always managed to slip by unharmed.

Until one day...

You proceeded to workout like you usually did and grabbed a sandwich from your fridge you had made the other day after hearing about the thunderstorm that would soon take over the continent. You huffed in response to working a little bit too hard in your basement and ate silently at the table drinking as much water as you could before finally going out on your daily run.

You looked up at the clouds and frowned seeing how cloudly it already was. "Shit, guess I cant go as far then" you loved to run in the rain but drew the line at thunderstorms. They were just too loud and slightly nerve racking to experience from outside. You would normally binge netflix or work on write ups your boss would hand out to you while waiting for it to stop.

You grabbed your water bottle and proceeded to run down the street stopping once to tie your shoelace that had miraculously come undone despite how tight it was tied. You stood up to start running again when suddenly someone was by your side. "oh!" You say startled not expecting anyone to be outside right before a thunderstorm. You turned to look at the person to see a man with green skin staring back at you.

"Sorry love didnt mean to scare ya. Ya know crazy thing, I always manage to see ya run past my house so I figured I'd come and say hi. Really wanna know how ya manage to run like that everyday" he asks slightly out of breath and gesturing to his house across the street. You shrugged slightly annoyed he was interrupting your run.

"Well I'm just naturally fit. Now if you'll excuse me.." He cut you off sighing "you've got a beautiful body love" he says leaning against a fence in someone's front yard. You smiled slightly never really getting a compliment like that, most people just called you out for being so fit and made you feel terrible for wanting to stay fit. Probably because they were jealous.

This was a whole new feeling. Your heart began to flutter as you felt a light pink blush spread across your cheeks. The man grinned seeing the blush knowing he had gotten to you. "Thank you sir..." You say trying to stay calm examing him a bit, noticing how good looking he was himself. "I could say the same about you mate" you say calmly. "Although more handsome then beautiful" you find yourself saying as you watch him blush as well.

Thunder erupts from the sky and I starts to drizzle. You frown knowing it was about to start and you had barely gotten a run in. The man shrugged not really caring "anyways. I'm Murdoc. And you are?" you smiled despite how upset you were about the rain. "(Y/n)" Murdoc grins "that's a lovely name for a lovely person like yourself. How about ya come inside and we can talk more? I'm sure you will be alright with getting to run home after this storm yeah?" He says as if he could read your mind.

You smiled more "ok..." You couldn't believe you had just said yes to a random man that invited you into his house. He smiled leading you across the street and into the house. It was oddly quiet but slightly comforting in a way. "I'm the only one home at the moment so make yourself comfortable. Not too comfortable alright?" you nodded sitting on one of the kitchen chairs.

Murdoc went to the cupboard and started making popcorn. "I'm hoping you enjoy horror movies?" You grinned realizing you had something in common with this strange green man you had just met. "Hell yeah" you say as Murdoc turns around now holding a large bowl of popcorn. "Sounds great!! Follow me then yeah?"

You got up following him down a dark hallway into an even darker room, he sat down on the bed and pulled out a laptop turning it on. You stood there unsure, he smiled patting beside him "dont be scared. I'll only bite once" he says smirking teasing you. You laughed and sat beside him as he set up a movie.

You felt him lean into you and slowly put an arm around you as the movie began to play. Thunder rang through the house signalling it would be a while until you got back home without getting drenched.

You sighed decided to get comfy since you knew youd be stuck here for a while. Murdoc grinned knowing he had you now as the movie went on. You grew tired and yawned. You snuggled up in murdocs arms and closed your eyes feeling a new sort of feeling you hadnt felt since you last dated someone.

Love.
