"I can't believe you finally transferred you have no idea how much I've missed you!" Olivia screamed indulging me into her arms. "I caved in.." I giggled, admiring the school that was presented behind her. Beverly High.

"It's been what 6 years?" She cried out, "yeah, something like that." I sighed out. After having to move away a couple years back due to my moms new job, the only thing that kept us together was the every so often happy birthday texts and swiping up on snap stories.

"Well, I'm just glad your back..things have been pretty rough and I missed our little sleepovers." She mentioned as we entered the halls of Beverly High. "Trust me we're going to have plenty of those." I smiled, the School was a complete upgrade compared to my last, I can't wait to see what the cafeteria food looks like.

"Whats your first class of-" "is that Marlene?" I heard a familiar voice shout, turning around to see the one and only. "Leila!" I cooed, the three of us used to be the bestest of friends. "Oh my gosh how did you get prettier?" She gasped, "girl stop boosting me, you both glowed!" I quickly noticed the tension between her and Olivia, but completely ignored it. "I'll see you after school?" Olivia said before disappearing into the crowd of kids. "For sure!" I said blowing a kiss to her before she turned around, playfully rolling her eyes.

"Spencer this is Marlene, Marlene, Spencer." Is this her boyfriend? "Well it's nice to meet you." He smiled tugging on his backpack straps. "He's cool." She smiled, "well I'll see y'all around Coach is going to kill me if I'm not I'm his office in 2 minutes." He said before running off. "He plays football?" "Oh, ha, he sure does, he's like the football star here at Beverly, but you'll find out at Friday's game, your going right?" "I mean probably not I still have to unpack and-" "c'mon it'll be fun, we can go together and cheer on the guys!" I might just take her up on that..unpacking can wait.

Lunch

It was now lunch time, finally. I walked through the halls alone, eyes casually falling onto me like I was some new kid or something.

Just as I spotted Olivia sitting alone, I felt a pair of hands tug onto me. "Let me introduce you to a couple people real quick." Leila smiled, leading me to what seemed like the cool kids spot. "Guys..this is my long lost friend Marlene!" I looked up to see the guy from earlier Spencer, some blonde dude who looked like a frat boy, and..my heart skipped a beat when I noticed Jordan Baker. I used to have the biggest crush on him in 6th grade and everybody knew. I'm pretty sure he knew too which I don't even want to think about.

Just as he was turning his head I quickly reverted my eyes back to Spencer. "Marlene.." Jordan. "Jordan Baker?" I questioned, trying to fight a smile. "Oh I forgot y'all.." Leila paused quickly. "How have you been marls?" He smiled, butterflies immediately setting off inside my stomach. He's the only one to have ever called me that. "I've been pretty good, and you?" "Well you know." He shrugged, doing that lil mushy face thing he used to always do when we were kids. "Just glad your back." He said before I was once again snatched up by layla. "C'mon lets go before Asher-" "Asher what?" We stopped in our path to see a pretty blue eyed blondie. He was totally cute like he'd be straight out of teen wolf.

"Uh nothing- Asher this is Marlene, she's new here." His eyes reverted to mine with a smirk, okay we love a mysterious king. "Hi." I responded shyly. "Hi, I've never seen you before." He smiled, practically sparkling. "Duh she's new, hello were you not listening ugh." Leila said trying to brush him off. "Well I hope to see you around." He said before walking off, I followed with a small wave.

"So who was that and why were you avoiding him?" I laughed. "We'll discuss that later but for now can we talk about the way Jordan baker was checking you out!" She whisper yelled. "Ugh no he was not." I laughed.

"obviously! C'mon It was so obvious, that's the main reason I dragged you away I thought he was making you uncomfortable." Jordan baker checking me out? "Yeah I wouldn't mind." I said puckering my lips to the side. "Oh gosh, well nows your chance, You'd be the perfect couple and have adorable babies." "Okay slow down." We both laughed and walked to our next class.

Afterschool

The school day was over, and I immediately escaped campus. Playing some music for the long walk home and putting my mind at ease.

Just as I began my journey a car started pulling up slowly to me, my heart immediately dropping. Should I run? Call 911? My mom? I just continued walking as the car followed. Slowly pulling my phone out of my bag pocket to at least t pretend I was on the phone.

"um what do you think you're doing?" I looked over and my anxiety vanished. "Seriously Olivia, I thought I was about to get killed!" "C'mon get in."

We quickly arrived to her house, and Mrs. Baker almost fainted by the sight of me. "Oh my goodness, I cant believe it." She brought me in for a hug and she still smelled the same, like rich. But good rich. "How have you been- wait don't answer that you probably been asked that a hundred times today, do you guys want me to make some popcorn or something?" She asked pulling apart from the hug.

"I missed you too Mrs. Baker." I smiled. "Um maybe in a bit, we were just gonna hang down here and catch up." "Aw you guys are so grown up, okay well have fun if you need anything call me." She said walking off looking busy as usual.

I dropped onto the couch, making myself at home. The front door opening, and in walk Jordan and Spencer...
