Lily's POV

"Morning, Jay!" I greeted gleefully as I walked into the kitchen, slightly surprised but definitely glad to see Jaden out of his bed. He quickly turned to face me, eyes wide for a moment before going back to regular. He simply waved in response, chewing whatever he'd stuffed into his mouth- I couldn't blame him, heartbreak took a lot of comfort food.

"Gotcha. Well, would you like some coffee?"
He gulped before replying, "Uh, yeah, sure. Please."
I nodded, practically skipping to the cupboard before bending down to open the door and grab the cups. Though, I instantly regretted that desicion when I felt the oversized hoodie that I had worn to bed slide up.

I, of course, quickly jumped up, turning to face Jaden- whom had evidently seen too much, or so I assumed from the shade of pink he was turning and the fact that he was clearly trying to look away.
"Sorry. Normally no-one's up at this time so I didn't feel weird walking round in just my hoodie or whatever." That was true. I was an early riser and a morning person, and none of the guys were.

"I-it's okay." He tried to reassure me, offering me a sweet smile which I tried to return.
"You sure? I'll go grab some shorts if you want?"
He shook his head, possibly a little too quickly which made me giggle a bit.
"It's fine." He confidently stated, and I just nodded in reply before turning back around and squatting to grab the cups this time rather than bending over and revealing my butt.

I made the coffee pretty quickly and handed Jaden his mug, joining him in sitting on the counter top. There was an odd silence, it wasn't necessarily uncomfortable but it made me anxious, causing me to place down my cup and grasp at the ends of my long sleeves.

"Thanks for the brownies, by the way." Jaden finally spoke up, after what felt like forever. I released a breathy laugh, looking up from my lap to meet his gaze as I arched a brow.
"So that's what you were eating earlier?" I guessed, and he nodded in reply, making me laugh once more as I picked up my coffee cup again.
"Not the most nutritious breakfast but okay." I replied, shrugging before taking a sip of my coffee.
"So, how are you today? Any better than you have been?" I added after sipping my coffee, returning my gaze to him. He began to smile his usual cute smile, nodding slightly, "A lot better.... Thanks for coming back by the way, I-"
"You thanked me yesterday silly, it's no big deal." I interrupted him, making him shake his head.
"No, I just... it means a lot, y'know? And I want you to know that. Y-you're great, I'm lucky to have you."

I was lost for words. Sure, Jaden could be sappy when he wanted to be, but I really wasn't prepared for it so early in the morning.

"Uh... um..." My eyes scanned over his face as I stumbled over my words, and I eventually found some kind of comfort in his eyes that held the same adoration from yesterday. I smiled sweetly before resting my head on his shoulder, giving him a side-hug which he accepted.
"Thanks, Jay. You're pretty great too."

Jaden's hand snaked around my waist, pulling me closer to him (if even possible), holding his cup in his other hand.

We stayed like that for a while, until we both finished our coffee and I thought I heard someone coming down the stairs. I was quick to jump off of the counter top, hoping that whoever it was wouldn't see the position Jaden and I were in- mostly because we were likely to be teased about it.

Of course, luck wasn't on our side, and Bryce (of all people) had actually managed to take a picture of us before I had jumped off.
"Bryce, post that anywhere and I will personally deck you." I threatened, only making him and Jaden chuckle, making me furrow my brows in confusion.
"Shouldn't you be on my side?" I asked Jaden, earning a shrug as he too got off of the counter top.
"What's the worst that could happen even if he did post it?"

It took me a few moments to think of a reasonable answer, but in the end all I could do was shrug.
"I don't know... People could assume things-"
"They already do." Bryce interrupted, and I gave him a quizzical look, signalling him to continue, which he did, "People already assume things about you and Jaden: like maybe you're the reason him and Mads broke up-"
"So let's not add to that theory?" I suggested obviously, but the boys shared a look that told me they weren't taking me seriously at all.

"Lets put it to a vote. All those who want me to post it..?" Jaden and himself raised their hands with matching smirks, making me roll my eyes and huff as I folded my arms over my chest.
"Whatever. Idiots."
I barged past the pair and went back upstairs to my bedroom. Jaden and Bryce probably assumed I wasn't really mad and I was just joking around, but I wasn't, because why would Jaden want the picture to be posted? So Maddison would see it, obviously. And the thought that he'd just used me to make his ex girlfriend jealous, or maybe even just to get her back, annoyed me.

~~~●~~~
A fair bit of time had passed, and I'd arranged to hang-out with Payton- doing what, I didn't know. I just wanted some conpany- England had been so quiet and peaceful, I'd forgotten how much of a whirlwind the guys were. Plus, I was still mad at Jaden and trying to avoid him.
I had a shower, brushed my teeth, sorted my hair and got dressed before making my way to the front door to let Payton in. Of course, Jaden tried speaking to me on the way there, saying a simple 'Hi' which I actively ignored.
"Hey, Lil." He tried again, maybe assuming that I hadn't heard him the first time round.
"Lily, hey!" This time, he gently grabbed my arm, turning me to face him. The look on his face was uncertain, as if he wasn't sure if I was mad at him or not.
"I'm busy." I probably sounded snappy.
He gave me a questioning look.
"Sorry, I, uh... I haven't seen you since earlier, and you seemed mad- I thought you were joking at first, but-"
"Why on earth would I be mad at you using me to make your ex jealous and possibly involving me in unnecessary drama despite me asking you not to?" I sarcastically asked, making him furrow his brows, but before he could speak again I said "I don't have time for this. Payton's came over to hang out, so if you don't mind..." I trailed off, continuing to the front door. I was instantly engulfed in a hug after opening the door, making me stumble back slightly but Payton held me up easily.
I giggled a bit, hugging him back just as tightly.
"Hey, Payt."
"Hi!"
Payton let me go, and I offered him a drink and a snack before heading to my room, of course ignoring the pouty look on Jaden's face.
We made it to my bedroom and I turned on my PS4 and my TV, handing him a controller and taking one for myself too.
"Minecraft?" I suggested, and he smiled as he nodded.
"Sure. But first, that picture Bryce posted-"
"Oh God. What about it?" I groaned, flinging my head back dramatically before dropping myself onto my gaming chair. Payton chuckled slightly before replying.
"I was going to ask if there was something going on with you two? I mean, you've always been close, so I kinda assumed..." he trailed off, clearly unsure how to finish his sentence, but I got the idea. I shook my head, unable to stop the slightly annoyed look from forming on my face.
"Nope. I actually asked them not to post it, but I think Jaden just wants to make Mads jealous or something." I simply replied with a shrug, quickly putting on my glasses before starting up the game. I noticed Payton furrow his brows at what I had said.
"Really?" He questioned and I nodded, not even taking my eyes off of the screen.
"Really. It's not even like I'd mind, but like just tell me, y'know? So I can act accordingly or whatever. Don't be all cute with me and shit without telling me it's fake. Like, I'm your friend, I want what's best for you and if you want her back and think that will work then cool, I'll do it. But don't be out here actually making me catch feelings just to-"
"You like him?!" Exclaimed Payton with wide eyes, cutting off my rant, instantly making my eyes widen too. Had I really just said all that? No, no I didn't like Jaden. Not possible. We were friends.
"I- no, I'm just speaking like hypothetically, y'know." I quickly told him, maybe a little too quickly because Payton didn't seem to believe me.
"Payt, seriously, we're just friends." I insisted, making him laugh a little as he replied, "Yeah, yeah sure you are."
"Really, c'mon Payt-"
"Would you even tell me if you did?" He questioned with a raised brow, and after thinking about it for a second I nodded. If I liked Jaden, of course I'd tell Payton, but the simple fact was I didn't like Jaden.
"Yeah, of course I'd tell you. I swear." I replied, extending my pinky to him, which he took and intertwined with his own as he smiled.
"Okay then. But seriously, I don't think he's using you to make Mads jealous, he's not like that."
"Whatever. C'mon, Minecraft."
