The School Project

{ Chapter 1 }

Hey everyone.
Ok so this is a new story that I've been writing and I wrote it all in a few days because I was bored in quarantine so ngl it's not that good.
Also, I just realised that I had been spelling Nathalie's name as Natalie and I'm lazy so I'm not going to change it.
ALSO, the picture thingy isn't the best but again I'm lazy so I couldn't be bothered to make a better one.

"Marinette! Marinette wake up! You're going to be late AGAIN!"
"Oh Tikki, what are you going on about, it's Sunday."
"No Marinette, that was yesterday! It's Monday today!"

"Oh Tikki you're right! I'm going to be late again!"
"Oh no, if only someone had told you" said Tikki sarcastically.

I jumped out of bed and pulled on my jeans.

"Ugh, we're getting assigned partners in science today for that huge project we're doing. It's worth 40% of our final grade and I bet I get Chloe." I pulled a face when I said her name, the very thought of it made me cringe.

"Oh come on Marinette, think positively, I'm sure you and Alya will be partnered up as usual, your teachers know you always present something amazing together."

"And by 'you', you mean Alya presents it."

"Well yes, but you both work well to produce a good quality presentation."
"That's true I guess."

I grabbed my bag and dashed out of my room.

"Hi Mum! Bye Mum!" I shouted as I sprinted out of the door.
"Bye sweetie! have a good day!" she laughed.

I sprinted into school, up the stairs and into the class room as the bell rang for the start of the day.
Panting, I flopped into my seat next to Ayla, who looked down at me and smiled.

"At least you made it on time girl. That's a first for a Monday!"

"No it's not! last Monday..."
"You were late"
"Okay maybe! But the Monday before that..."
"You were late again."
"I see your point."

Adrien walked into the classroom with Nino and some other classmates. His beautiful, blond hair bouncing as he walked.

Alya watched me staring at him.

"Marinette" she sung "You're staring again"
"Oh, right!" I quickly looked away

"Hey Alya, hey Marinette" Said Adrien as he and Nino came to take their seats.
"Hey Adrien" said Alya confidently.
"H-hey, um, Adrien" I said not so confidently.

"Settle down class, settle down" called Mrs. Mendeleive.
Adrien and Nino took their seats.

"Now, as you know, today you will be assigned your partners for the group project that is worth 40% of your grade so you MUST work hard on this, okay class?"
"Yes miss" chorused the class.
"Good, now, for these groups we have randomly assigned them so you will NOT be with who you usually are."

Me and Alya looked at each other.
"Don't worry, I bet Chloe will be with Sabrina because she blackmailed miss-"
"Alya if you have something to say, I suggest you share it with the class"
"I'm alright thank you miss"
"Hmm" she murmured disapprovingly.

"I will now read our your groups." She pulled out a notebook and started to read from the page.
"Kim and max, Chloe and Sabrina"
"Told you" whispered Alya.
"Alya and Nino"
"Yes" Said Alya and Nino simultaneously.
"Marinette and Adrien"

WHAT? What just happened??
Alya nudged me with a wink.
Adrien turned round and smiled at me.
I smiled and waved awkwardly back.
How was I gonna get through this one?
