The mind forgets, but the heart remembers.
"Did you get the grocery list?" He asked as he continued to slice the spices. "Yes, I did!" The younger answered as he wears his shoes near the rack. "Alright! Come home quickly, They'll start coming around 6!" Xiao Zhan said as he peeked at his boyfriend from the kitchen.
"Ah, is that so?" Yibo answered as he finished tying his converse shoes. "Yeah, Zhuocheng's gonna bring the cake though. So don't worry about the desserts," Xiao Zhan said as he takes off his apron and went towards the other. "I'll be right back," Wang Yibo said and takes a dark blue coat. "Take my car today, since you're going shopping. It's difficult to ride your motorbike."
"Don't worry I can handle it," Yibo smiled and Xiao Zhan frowned. "Yeah right. It's snowing, Yibo," he warned and Wang Yibo gave in with a chuckle. "Fine, keys?"
Xiao Zhan rumages through his pocket and hands it over to Wang Yibo. "Be safe," he gave his boyfriend a quick peck on the lips and Yibo smiled at him as he wears the coat. "Off I go!" He waved his hand and hopped inside the car then started the engine.
Xiao Zhan leans on the doorframe as he watched his boyfriend drive off. Alright Zhan, time to get to work!
It was almost Christmas time and they invited their friends to celebrate in their house. Well, it's been a while since they got together as a group. Besides, the more the merrier!
Xiao Zhan is elated as he hums a tune and can't wait for them to finish preparing.
But it never crossed his mind that he'd get to experience a Christmas celebration that made his spirit wither. It wasn't the best holiday at all, probably the worst- That night, it became a nightmare that he can't wake up from.

The screeching noise was deafening to his ears as he tried to move the car away. But it was too late, before he knew it, there were blaring lights that assaulted his eyes. Without warning, there was a loud bang that made him succumb to darkness.
