I sit here watching,
Always watching,
As the world around me lives their lives
One minute at a time.
Never aware of the storm that has drowned me more times than I can count.
This storm,
This raging, dark storm
Sinks each and every ray from the lighthouse deep within me.
This storm threatens- promises- to pull me under every minute,
Every second.
Yet I sit here, calm like a lake without a breeze,
Watching,
Always watching,
As the world around me lives their lives
One minute at a time.
