Chapter 1

Jacksunn

Whoa, today was crazy weird. First this light, and then this guy and then this thing and....whoa dude. Oh, wait, I didn't introduce myself. Yeah, so my name is Jacksunn. I know, it's a weird spelling, shut up. Jeez, my parents were weird. They would always talk in private convos and every time i saw them talking, they would gasp and say "oh, it's not about you honey, it's about the heroes that save us and blah blah blah". Total lie. Heroes shmeroes. Heroes suck... oh, yea we have heroes. It's just a bunch of buff dudes in costumes punching people that are "villains" or as i like to call them," heroes with different perspectives"....Except for Graviton. He smashed my favorite frozen yoghurt store because they wouldn't honor a coupon from three years ago. He said "I am a god, obey me!"Yeah, things here are pretty weird here. Speaking of weird, a weird thing happened to me that day. The day things went from weird to crazy. The day my journey as a hero began. The day I found out I HAVE POWERS.

I woke up that morning regretting waking up for school. I got dressed, got my stuff, and as soon i got in the car and my dad started driving off, I realized i forgot my project..."i'm gonna flunk science" i say under my breath. Now you might say how? Can't you make it up. And to that i say NO, i have a 69! My only choice is to skip first period. I get in school, hug my dad goodbye, and walk into the school.. And I immediately head to the bathroom to hide from the cameras which are off during class time because staff are on duty. Luckily i chose the back bathroom which is close to the outside lunch area, which is also, according to my knowledge, about twenty feet from my first period class. Just got to hang till second period. I feel like I'm a spy. I know I shouldn't make it seem hard. I've done this plenty of times before, but that was before they hired the new campus guard. Ever since he came, he's been catching kids left right and center, except for the gifted kids. Most run away, teleport, or blind him. He's a Breaker so he has super strength and can't be hurt that easily.

Aaaaaaaanyways, the bell rang and I sprinted over to the giant stair/seat thing and waited for the tardy bell to ring...and proceeded to play video games on my phone. And then I heard footsteps and immediately thought "Oh jeez, it's the guard," but then I heard the snooty british accent of the local bully and sighed..

"Oh boy, aren't I in for a ride" I said under my breath.

"Oi there, come out, I saw you", Josh said in his snoddy voice, he comes from a rich family of course, not to mention they're all gifted with some sort of phantom appendage. I hear him jump and I dash away. Looks like he just broke part of the amphitheater. He lunges at me with his fist forward. He hits the ground below me, sending me flying. I crashed into another part of the amphitheatre. I felt my wrist slam into the corner and feel a knife of pain run up my arm.

"Congrats, you sprained my wrist, here's a medal for the worst attack ever," and I stick my middle finger at him just to piss him off. And I can tell it worked because he clenches his fist and heads straight for my ribcage. Fun. I, of course, dodge so he hits the ground sending me some amount of height in the air, about to hit the ground i think "is this how it all ends?" I think of my dad and mom. I hear a warping sound and look down and see a rip in the air, i assume it's my dad's portal but it's colored green instead of orange. I fall through and land on one of those wall-suspended walkways. I turn and see my dad. He looks completely shocked, but I haven't fully regained my balance and fall off. Another portal appears and I'm sent flying into my couch.

"Crikey!" I hear my mother say in her very thick australian accent,"Wot the bloody hell are ye doin' 'ere?"

"Hi mom," I say before passing out.

When I come to, I see my father talking to my mom at the table.

"There's no way those were my portals," I hear him retort

"Well, that means he has abilities, unlike what we previously suspected-"

"Mom, Dad, what am I doing at home? I'm supposed to be in fourth period" I check my watch to make sure. "Hey dad do you know what's happening to me?" I am very confused.

"Son you have an ability like my portals, but how did they activate?" he asked inquisitively

"When Josh almost killed me" I say sarcastically.

"So it's 'danger portals'" he says, sounding sure of himself.

I pass out because of the pain from my wrist which is actually broken.

"Oh geez you over exaggerate jax, I only sent you like ten feet in the air the first time and twenty the second." Josh said, all smug faced.

"Shut up Josh, you broke his wrist." said searah.

"Can you all shut up." I said angered.

"You did kinda over exaggerate jax." said jack, even more smug faced than josh.

"Jack, I would send you flying if you weren't a crippled version of me. ''I said annoyed.
