Chapt 2

I sat staring at my uncle sheepishly. He glared at me for about 3 seconds and then said,"pay attention skylar" and walked to the front of the room. I heard snickering to my left and looked to see my worst enemy Tristan sitting there smiling like she won a candy cane for Christmas. My eyes narrowed at her, she thinks that because her girlfriend well Nicole being her ex girlfriend left her for me that I stole her which isn't true at all. Considering the fact that Nicole has dated me for 3 years but aside from that she shouldn't hate me, at first I didn't hate her but then she decided to paint ball my car. Ever since then I've hated her but don't get me wrong I got my revenge, I "accidently" sledge hammered her car until it looked like someone ran into it with a bull douser. So as we have this stare down I can feel someone else's eyes on me which makes me glance around to see my uncle giving me this intense gaze. I used to hate when he did that but I figured out that he does it as a way of trying to see into someone, I kinda thought it was weird before but I never say anything.

I look away just as the bell rings and I go out the door. I avoided Nicole as much as I could because she kept trying to talk to me. I also noticed Tristan everywhere I went which made me think she was doing this because of our little stare down in class. but after the day was over and constantly hiding from Nicole and Tristan, I slowly got in my car. I hate the fact that tomorrow will just be another dreadful day like any other it will also be closer to the time I find my mate. don't get me wrong I'm ready for my mate but I'm afraid to hurt people like Nicole. she has honest faith that we will be mates but I just don't think she's the one the goddess choose for me.

I pulled out of the school parking lot and drove home. once I got to my driveway I see that my family has invited most of the pack and family over. probably for birthday decorations or some shit like that, I'm not really a celebration type person but my mother and father insist I have a big celebration for my birthday. I'll only be 19 once and you'll find your mate they always tell me which doesn't really make me feel all to excited. as I walk into the house I catch the scent of ginger bread which causes me to smile. my grandmother was here she knew exactly how I felt on the mate subject because she's my best friend, Nicole always found it weird I would tell my grandmother the deepest parts of me. But my grandmother understands she is married to my other grandmama which always makes me smile. they might be old but they're still so in love with each other, I walk into the kitchen to see them cooking ginger bread. "well if it isn't my wonderful grandmothers," I say with a playful tone. they turn around and smile at me "you're an awful granddaughter sneaking up on us like that!" My grandma piper exclaimed dramatically. I couldn't help but laugh at her "I wasn't sneaking grandmother you can hear everything with wolf senses." I said with a grin, she pulled me into a hug causing me to smile. I hug my other grandmama and then go to my room upstairs, I love being alone it's the one time you don't have to worry about anyone else just yourself and you can bask in the feeling of being free. I fell asleep sometime after I finished my homework, only to be greeted by nightmares. I hated dreaming because most of the dreams that wolfs have are real even though they might not happen when you'd expect them to. But they're real enough to make you scream yourself awake in the middle of the night, most nights I barely sleep which is probably why I smash so many alarm clocks.

My dreams were full of blood and death making my parents run into my room from my screams. After calming down my mother and father went back to their bedroom and I just laid there thinking about tomorrow and what awaits me. And honestly I'm scared because that will mean only one more day till my birthday, one more day till I find my mate.
