The hall was filled with priests with chatter in the air. The guards march around the room, closing the grand door. As the skylight shined golden sunlight. Then, a dark aura entered he room.
A figure wearing a dark robe with royal armor covering it's body, with a hood and crown covering the head strutted to the throne with three pairs of guards parading behind him. The room fell silent as the emperor sat on the throne of golden throne. "Great Men, today, you sit in front of the emperor for a great and noble cause." the Emperor said smirking menacingly, as the guards left the room and barricaded the room from the outside.
The priests were wary, the glimpse of the emperor's skin were pale as a skeleton, and the enclosed space did not make any of them feel safer. "You will all be remembered." Gria stood up as he raised his arms. Thousands of bolts of red lightning struck the priests, all painful as being impaled. The hood of the Emperor was blown off, revealing a pale, balding head, with eyes that were insidious and wrathful in nature. He cackled as the souls of the priests were all syphoned from the bodies, the silence before was drowned in screams of terror and pain.
Bodies dropped as the Emperor lowered his arms, cackling. "At last, infinite power!" He exclaimed in a raspy voice as his face became smooth and his eyes purple. "Guards, dispose of the bodies" He commanded with a charming voice. The door slammed open as the guards entered, incinerating the bodies with a torch. He climbed the stairway behind him and walked atop a balcony.
"So, the republicans started to riot?" He commented to himself as he saw an army clash with his own. "There's the Emperor!" A warrior with a rune rifle yelled as a large amount of cannons aimed at him from the distance.
'Three hundred meters away, and they are confident that they can kill me from that distance?' He thought before he snickered. "Foolish." He simply said as he observed the cannons fired, landing near him but not hitting him. "Sire! The Republicans are storming the palace! We couldn't save your Empress and the Prince!" A guard yelled, gasping for air as he was wheezing. "Do not worry, I can always find another." Gria replied without turning around. "But sire, you are nearing death's door, you can not possibly live long enough to make a new heir and obtain a bride." The guard explained.
"I was near death's door, but now I am immortal, Xylus." He said as he turned to the palace burning down. "But I will miss that castle, built by the first Emperor." He said quite regretfully as he stared at the rioting crowds with growing anger.
Meanwhile, a young man ran out of the palace, bleeding, as Republicans chased after him, narrowly avoiding shots of magic and metal. "I can see why my father hates you bloody republicans, you show no mercy and torture prisoners!" The brunet yelled at the mob as he slid down the rocky hill and ran through the the alleyways.
He stopped at the edge of an incomplete bridge. "Oh crap..." He cursed as he turned and ducked behind a crate to hide from the firing of the mob. "What the?" He asked to himself before he saw a levitating airship fly by and look at him. 'When did they get the airships?!' He thought to himself before an explosive shot struck the bridge. The mob cheered before they ran back to the kingdom with the airship flying in.
Meanwhile, the brunet fell the deep clip below the bridge. Splash! The boy dove through the river. The brunet coughed and hacked as he reemerged from the sea below. 'Great, right into depths of the sewage disposal river.' He thought angrily as he hung onto a stray wooden plank.
He stayed floating for hours, slowly falling asleep, yet he resisted. He went through the long tunnel. "Why... What lead to this?" He asked himself as he felt sick. "What line of circumstances lead to this unnecessary civil war?" he asked again with his sanity slightly decreasing.
