Tony stirred in his sleep but didn't quite wake up. He sighed and turned, feeling something warm on his side. He fluttered his eyes open, trying to situate himself. He was in his room, laying in his bed. Looking down, he found Peter curled up next to him under the covers, his Iron man hood on his head, he seemed to be in deep sleep. Tony blinked, trying to remember how the kid got here, he was pretty sure that he had left him in the guest bedroom before going to bed.
- Jarvis, how did Peter end up in my bed?
- He woke up some time this night and was panicking because he didn't recognise the room he was in. After I helped him remember where he was he didn't seem to want to fall asleep again so I directed him to your bedroom. He spent some time watching his images from the observatory before falling asleep again.
Tony smiled as he spotted the papers scattered by Peter's side. The genius quietly got up and gathered the papers, putting them back in the binder. A gentle knock on the door startled the brunet and after checking that it didn't disturb the sleeping boy, he quickly got to the door. Steve was standing on the other side, a worried look on his face.
- Hello Tony, I'm sorry to disturb you but I went to check on Peter to see if he was awake and wanted some breakfast but he wasn't there.
Tony smiled at the blond and simply opened his door a little wider so the super soldier could the sleeping form on his bed. Steve smiled.
- Oh, I see, I shouldn't worry.
- No, but you wouldn't be Captain America if you didn't worry about everyone all the time.
Steve punched his friend's shoulder and the brunet laughed lightly. He quickly shut up when he remembered Peter, still asleep in his bed. Sending a look in the boy's direction, he found out that he was still asleep and decided to leave him for now. He closed the door behind him and followed Steve down the hallway.
- Jarvis, please tell Peter to join us in the kitchen when he wakes up.
- Will do, sir.
- So, how did the little man end up in your bed?
- Jarvis told me he woke up during the night and panicked because he didn't recognise the room he was in. Then he decided to keep me company.
- I see, he must not be used to have such a big room for himself.
- Probably not. I hope he wasn't too scared.
- Hmm, well he doesn't seem too shaken up. How long did he stay awake for when he came to your room? The poor boy will be exhausted today.
- I don't know actually, he didn't wake me up when he climbed in my bed, Jarvis just told me he spent some time looking over his images from the observatory before falling asleep next to me.
Steve raised an eyebrow at Tony's words.
- He didn't wake you up?
- That's what I said, Tony shrugged, pouring himself a cup of coffee.
- But you're probably the lightest sleeper I know, you wake up at the smallest noise.
- Well, you did carry me all the way from the lab to my bed once without waking me up.
Tony wiggled his eyebrows and Steve blushed slightly at the tone the brunet used.
- You looked very uncomfortable on this workbench, plus Jarvis told me you had stay awake all night working on Clint's equipment.
- I know, I never actually got to thank you for that.
- Oh, you did when you locked me out of the penthouse.
