We're talking about year zero, the year when everything strange happened. The far east forest called Paduma was protected by four magical creatures, of which not much was known. It is believed that the forest has been inhabited by the fours since time immemorial and it has never been possible for a person to see one of the four clearly.
However, stories about the four guards have been told for years, pictures of their silhouettes have been painted and discussions have been held about whether these animals have magical abilities.
One day it was clear which four species of animals lived in the forest and they were given names. The deer with closed antlers was called Deru. The fluffy wildcat with a fire-colored tail was called Caru. The big meek bear was named Beru, and the little nimble rabbit was called Haru.

For years, scientists tried to observe the four in order to have a clear picture of them, and it was found that the animals actually had magical abilities that they used for the good of their forest.
The exact abilities of the Four were unknown, but now and then a group of hunters went out into the forest to hunt the four animals and to enrich themselves with their magical powers, which led to the animals being on forever hiding in the forest and never showing themselves to a person ever again.
Because Deru, Beru, Caru and Haru were no longer to be found, they were given up looking for the animals. People also stopped telling stories about the Four Guardians because there was no new information about them, imagining what the four might actually look like and what exactly their magical abilities were.
Years passed and no one ever mentioned anything about one of the four forest spirits because after all these years nobody could remember them.
But whether the four have really been forgotten forever cannot be known ...
