Many years ago, in a mystical land known as Talberos, a sudden meteor randomly struck the planet earth, gifting the people within it the power to use magic. However, unknown to the people of the time, the meteor had a negative effect on the animals of the world, and the animals that are naturally dangerous, or were threatened to become so, became monsters.
One wielder of magic developed schools for different magic users, or mages, as they were called, to help deal with these monsters. These schools were: The Arcana Purification Academy (APA), which is tasked with training mages willing to save the low level monsters and bring them back to normal, The Arcana Law Enforcement Academy (ALEA), which trains people to uphold the laws of keeping balance in the main city of Faywind, and the biggest of them all; The Arcana Battle Mage's Academy (ABMA), which is responsible for training those who take care of the higher level monsters that are beyond the point of saving.
