The cultivation world was in an uproar for the past week and would probably remain to be so for the upcoming future.

All because of one person: Wei MingYu

Usually cultivators could care less about somebody unimportant. But Wei MingYu isn't just somebody unimportant. He's extremely unimportant. He's the son of a servant and yet...

[Those who remembered Cangse Sanren sighed. Of course her sons would be exactly like her. A trouble magnet.]

This man had appeared out of nowhere, claimed to be the older brother of Wei Wuxian who was 4th on the bachelor's list as well as a prodigy. More importantly, he was a demonic cultivator and no-one knew?! How did he remain hidden for so long?!

Just where did he come from?

I bet he's not even a person!

Why would the Jiangs suddenly protect him?

Why did he become a rogue cultivator?

Weren't demonic cultivators supposed to be evil and immoral? So why is the Yunmeng Jiang sect actively supporting and protecting the demonic cultivator?!

Indeed, Wei MingYu was an enigma to the cultivation world.

On the other hand, the Jiangs could hardly care about such rumors when the person responsible for said rumors was silently and patiently sipping his tea. [They never thought a day would come where they would actually want a Wei Ying to be rambunctious and rowdy.]

"So... a demonic cultivator..." Jiang Cheng lamely starts, not knowing where to actually start. There were just too many things to ask.

Why become a demonic cultivator? What happened to him in the future? Why does he looks defeated? What the f*** happened to your golden core? How did you lose your golden core? How long ago did you lose your core? And other questions regarding his core.

[For once, they collectively looked at the sky in exasperation. Trust Wei Ying to figure out a way to soften the blow about him being a demonic cultivator by bringing some equally more horrendous news. Yu Ziyuan couldn't help but be impressed.]

MingYu only hums, eyes closed as though he was trying to savour the taste of the tea.

He eyed his uninvited guest worriedly. Their time travelling guest hadn't even eaten properly. [It reminded them of the time when a 9 year old Wei Ying had first entered the sect. The servings were just too much for him to digest. It did not present a good image in their minds.]

There was silence for a long time.

"Why?"

Wei MingYu opens his eyes slowly, swirling the cup in his hand gently.

"Because I had no choice."

Yu Ziyuan's lips curled in distaste. [She refused to imagine a helpless Wei Ying wandering around aimlessly, trying to survive without a core, before resorting to demonic cultivation. She refused to and yet she did.]
