Ensley was not ready for this, she was already trying to tell herself that this was a dream, this can't be real. But yet here she was sitting in her 98 Dodge Dakota pick up truck in the parking lot waiting for her instructors who taught at the academy to arrive.
Her stomach hurt, she could have sworn her heart was pounding so loud it may actually beat out of her chest. Finally after sitting there trying to chain smoke her nerves away a white hunchback car pulls in.
" garber, I need to talk to you about something that happened yesterday " as those words left her lips she started to sob. Again her cheeks wet with tears that have not stop falling since the day before.
"What is it Cadet Hoover ? Why are you here so early? She scowled. "My.. my.. My oldest brother was killed in a car accident yesterday morning " she started to weep again. "Okay, okay come inside. I need to call and conform with your mother"
" hello ms.miller is this garber calling regarding ensley, she is here in my office telling me her brother passed away in a car accident yesterday?"
yes, that is correct. I lost my son yesterday."
" I am so sorry for your loss ma'ma. I'll call the guidance counselor as soon as she in in to come meet with ensley"
"Thank you, if you need anything else just give me a call" ensley's mother Chelsea said dryly.
"We would have understood for you not to come in for the next couple days you know that right?"
" I couldn't stay home, I needed to get away. Plus I can't call off the next day if we had a really bad call, I mean I guess I could have but I needed to be around people who understand."
