• Three ~ Our Babies •

"Sure thing kid. I'll be over. Good luck and call if you need anything." I smiled gratefully towards them and nodded my head. I headed towards the front door where Lucas was waiting and tossed him the car keys. His face lit up like a Christmas tree and I chuckled. "Don't make me regret my decision." I had taken Lucas out driving a few times but Luce is the one who has taken it upon herself to teach him and from the sounds of things he's well able.

I buckled Amelia into her car seat securely before getting into the passenger seat as Lucas started up the car. I didn't kind him driving seeing as the house was just around the corner. It took us about five minutes despite it being a two minutes drive but it was worth it by the look on his face after his accomplishment. Lucas pulled into the driveway beside Rachel's car and turned off the engine. "You'll be driving me around yet bubs." He looked at me with a huge grin across his face and that made me smile.

He helped grab a few of Amelia's things as I grabbed her before we walked into the house. Rachel was sitting in the living room as if waiting for our arrival and Lucas looked at me in confusion. She stood up slowly and Amelia wiggles in my arms so I set her down and she ran straight to Rachel. "Mummy. Lulu drive me and mommy home." Rachel looked towards myself and Lucas after she picked up Amelia and kissed her cheek.

"Oh really. Where did he learn how to do that?" I saw Lucas tense up next to me and I reached for Amelia's things and took them from him.

"Lucy has been teaching me. She has been for a while now. You would know this if you were around more." Rachel looked at me as if to ask if he's allowed to say that. I just held my hands up in surrender and nudged Lucas's shoulder when I saw him smirk.

"There's something we need to tell you. Well I need to tell you something so why don't you sit." Lucas looked at me in confusion and I nodded my head reassuringly. Lucas sat on the sofa opposite Rachel and Amelia came to me. I handed her the iPad and sat her on the spare sofa with her headphones on so she wouldn't hear what was going to happen.

"There's no easy way to say this but I'm just going to come right out and say it. I'm pregnant, Lucas." Lucas seemed to shut off completely after she stopped speaking and I could see his jaw clenching. I sent Lucy a quick text telling her to come quick and to bring KB because things weren't looking very good at the moment. "Lucas, honey, I know this must come as a shock to you a-"

"Stop talking Rachel. Can't you see him." Rachel looked from me to Lucas and I watched as she reached for his hand but he immediately yanked it away from her and stood up. I saw the blank distant look on his face as he clenched his fists so tight they were turning white. Rachel must have noticed them too because she stood up slowly with her hands in front of her for protection.

"Lucas, bubs I know you're angry but I need you to relax okay?" I thought I had gotten through to him but he literally picked me up and put me to the side as he neared Rachel.

"You're a fuck up you know that right. You've done nothing but fuck up this family from the moment you returned twelve years ago. We don't need you anymore. I'm the man of the house and I'll take care of MY family because I sure as hell have been doing a better job than you have been doing the last few years." The front door opened and KB, Ma and Luce came running in. KB went straight for me and looked over me to make sure I was alright while Luce went to Lucas and Ma took Amelia out from the room.

"Kid she's not worth it I promise you." Lucy tried to pull Lucas away but he stayed put. I slowly made my way over to him and looked at Rachel to see her froze in her place but suddenly seemed to gain some confidence.

"Let it all out, I can take it." I shot Rachel a look as she stood up straight trying to show how superior she was and let's just say that standing between them wasn't exactly where I wanted to be.

"Why is it that Amelia got all the attention and all your love? Why did you stick around for her? I don't understand. Why wasn't I good enough? Why was I never good enough for you? I know I haven't made it easy for you but you're still my mum." From the way he spoke you could just hear the pain he was feeling and when his voice cracked it just proved it.

"I know we never really got along after Amelia was born but that's mostly on me. I was just jealous and angry of how Amelia got to have you around right from the beginning when you walked out on mom and I before I was born. I act all tough in front of my everyone and the media to show them I wasn't affected by all of it but I am. I'm still a kid mum. Can you just be there for me just this once? I really need you okay." The silence in the room was deafening as Lucas cried silently. I stepped away from them and Rachel pulled Lucas into a tight embrace. He didn't return it for a few seconds but he slowly wrapped his arms around her waist and cried into her shoulder.

I motioned for Luce and KB to follow me into the kitchen and Luce shut the living room behind her. Ma was cradling Amelia in her arms and rocked back and forth as she slept soundly. She looked up at us when we walked in and smiled softly. All of us turned our heads suddenly at the sound of their voices rising but it suddenly stopped. I looked at Ma worryingly and she reached over to take my hand in hers.

The was a long period of silence and none of us knew what to do. I was about to walk in but the door opened and Rachel walked in. She looked between us before walking out again. I watched her as she left and even when she was gone I was still looking at the door. "Lil, whatever you choose to do we're always going to support you." I looked back at Ma and smiled sadly. I could hear Rachel ruffling around upstairs but Lucas hadn't come out of the living room yet.

I sighed softly and looked at the door one last time before walking into the living room. Lucas was on the sofa with his head in his hands. He looked up when he heard me and I froze when I saw the tears streaming down his face. "She's leaving mom, she's really leaving." Luce made her way in and sat down next to him to comfort him. Lucas looked back at me hopefully. "Please don't let her leave. I know she fucked up but please." I looked away from him and sighed. I heard a thud from above us and walked out of the living room. I ran upstairs to our bedroom and saw her throwing clothes into suitcases.

"Rach." She stopped what she was doing and looked back at me. She was in the same state as Lucas and it broke my heart. I slowly made my way over to her and reached for the top that was in her hand and set in on the bed. I took both her hands in mine and squeezed them softly. "Come on." She looked at me weirdly and I smiled softly while pulling her along after me. We walked down the hall to Amelia's old room which we'be been meaning to redecorate but now I'm glad we haven't. I opened the door and smiled softly.

"Why did you bring me here?" I looked at Rach as she walked into the room. She picked up one of Amelia's old teddies and smiled softly.

"Because." I walked over to her and hugged her from behind. I placed my hands on top of her little bump and leaned my chin against her shoulder. "This is going to be the newest member of our little family's room." She placed her hands on top of mine and I held her closer to me. I kissed the side of her head gently and she leaned into my touch.

"Are you really sure about this?" I smiled softly and turned rach around in my arms while nodding my head.

"We're a team Rach, we've always been a team. I'm not ready to let go of you yet but I swear to god if you even think about causing any more damage to this family so help me god you will not be getting another chance." She chuckled softly and nodded her head. She wrapped her arms around my waist and I brought my hands up to her neck.

"I love you so much. Your babies are so lucky to have a mom like you." I caressed her cheek softly and shook my head.

"They're our babies Rach. They always have been so don't you ever forget that." She smiled softly and nodded her head. We both leaned forward subconsciously and our lips met halfway. I know that what we've got going between us isn't exactly the healthiest but something tells me that the little peanut growing with Rach is going to change our lives for the better.
