Lily's POV Chapter 7

Start from the beginning

Then Holly recruited me to help her make snacks for everyone. Holly made smoothies for the kiddies and alcoholic slushies for us adults, while I made my signature popcorn and tossed some bags of chips and trail mix into the common room. Then I helped Holly pass out the drinks. Josh made fun of Dylan for having a "girl drink", but Dylan took the matter into his big brother hands. (I don't like violence and I don't writing about it either, so I'll leave that situation here. Um just use your imagination to fill in the blanks to what Dylan did to Josh.)

After Dylan got his revenge, we six watched 'The Avengers'. My brothers enjoy all of the action, my sisters like all the cute boys and even though it's not my cup of tea, I watched it to spend time with my siblings. As the credits were rolling, Josh, Avery and Bay left our apartment to hopefully go to bed while my roommates helped me clean up.

The week flew by as I saw my boyfriend at work and got to work alongside him at my nanny job too! Axel was a joy to work with and was on his best behavior as if he was expecting me to give his sister a good report about him too. Every night I would try not to tell my parents anything while I couldn't keep anything from A, Bay and Holly. The only reason why I knew it was Friday was that it was 'Family Game Night'.

When I woke up today, I had two messages; one from Ax and one from my Mom. Axel loves to text me 'good morning' at midnight when he's going to bed. And Mom was wondering if I was getting up for our walk. It's our thing to do on Saturday mornings before anyone else gets up. I love waking up early, just like my Mom! But this morning, I had to turn her down because I really wanted to keep my secret and surprise both my parents with my boyfriend later. (I don't like to lie, but sometimes like now, it's needed.) Mom responded with 'okay' and a kissy face. It's her signature emoji. (And yes, I did text my boyfriend back too!)

I really didn't sleep well last night, just thinking about how everything would go today. So I set my alarm to go off at nine. We were leaving for the beach at eleven. But my body would only grant me one more hour of precious sleep. I would've liked to have more shuteye, but I'm just glad that I was at least able to go back to sleep. So I got out of bed at nine and did some yoga to try and clear my head of all worries. It sort of worked, but then I changed into my workout clothes to use the family gym in the main house. When I was gym ready, I opened my door, put my earbuds in and was about to turn on some music when I heard another door open. I stepped into the hallway to see a half asleep Holly standing in her doorway.

"Sis, are you okay?"

Holly shrugged her shoulders, walked into the common room and collapsed onto the couch. I knew she needed to talk, so I took my buds out of my ears and joined her on the couch. She had a nightmare where everyone called her out for not having a real boyfriend. She was really upset about it and I just sat back and listened to her. I wish I could help her find true and everlasting love.

"So are you going to skip today?"

"No Lil, that would look worse than having a fake boyfriend." (She was right.)

Then I started listing off boys who would be a good fit for her and even though she listened, she wasn't having any of it. She claimed that the boys I mentioned were only friends and nothing more. However she did bring up a good point.

"Aren't the Baker's like our cousins though?"

"How do you figure?"

"Well we call Mason and Beth by Uncle and Aunt, not Mr. and Mrs. Baker."

"True, but Dylan's dating Bridget."

"Well that's different because Dylan didn't join our family until he was eleven or so."

"Yeah, but it's not like we share genes with the Baker's and or Dylan for that matter."

Suddenly, a man's voice spoke up. I can't tell the voice difference between Dylan and Dad. The only way I can tell their voices apart, is that my brother calls me any form of my given name and my father just calls me 'sweetheart' and my name.
