Lily's POV Chapter 7

Start from the beginning

'Focus on the road, Lilian'. (I told myself as I waved at some of my old neighbors.)

All the way home, I replayed the events of this afternoon in my head again. Though I wasn't expecting Axel to be at Sydney's, I'm grateful to have my time with my man and a surprise date too!

When I arrived, I parked in my spot, between Holly and Josh. As I walked into the apartment, Dylan and Josh were playing video games while Holly watched them.

"Hey guys!"

My brothers mumbled 'hi', while my sister actually got off of the couch and greeted me.

"How was your day?"

"Good, but long. How was your day?"

"Same. So how was your charges today?"

"Good!"

"Why are you smiling like that?"

"Like what?"

"Was Axel there?"

I grinned and nodded.

"Come on, tell me all about it!"

So that's what I did. Holly was really happy for me! I thought we were being quiet, when all of a sudden, our whispers were the only sound in the room.

"What's going on, girls?" Dylan asked, walking over to us.

"Lily went on a date!" Holly said with a smile.

"Who? What? Where? Why? How?" Josh asked, jumping over the couch and almost running into Dylan.

"Ignore him. So who was it? Do we know him? Is he good to you?" Dylan asked, folding his arms.

Holly looked at the guys. "Hey boys, don't overwhelm our sister. Lily, answer any question you want," she continued, while giving me a sweet smile.

I took a deep breath. "Okay, I went on a date with Axel Bush!"

"Sydney's brother?" Dylan asked. (But it took everything in me not to be sassy like Holly.)

"Yep! He's actually my boyfriend! He's a perfect gentleman and he's coming to the family event on Saturday!"

"The what?" Josh asked, with a confused look on his face.

"Mom texted us all about it," I said, showing him the text.

"Oh I usually ignore her texts."

"Why?" Dylan asked him.

He had a sour look on his face. "She's always asking me how I am, where I'm at and what I'm doing."

"Oh no, Joshua. That's so awful to have a mother who cares about you," Holly said, simply being herself.

"Well it's annoying." (I wonder when Josh will grow up.)

Holly folded her arms. "That she cares?"

"No, that she's always texting me."

"Wow, Joshua Andrew, wow. we are extremely blessed to have a mother who takes time out of her busy schedule to catch up with all of her children's lives. I can't believe that you leave her on read. Don't ghost Mom!"

Dylan and I were just witnesses to this full on disagreement between Josh and Holly. I agree with everything my sister was saying and I'm shocked that she didn't cuss him out. Just then everyone's phones buzzed in unison. It was Mom telling us that it's dinnertime.

"Did you get that message, Joshua?" Dylan asked, in an annoyed tone. (We were all annoyed with him by this point.)

"Yes," he said, rolling his eyes.
