"You said you wanted to visit the library at some point. So I figured, why not today?" I reply.

We step out of the limo and enter the huge building. The pure peace on Loki's face when he sees all of the books warms my heart. He looks as though he has come home. He gazes at his surroundings and immediately heads for the classics. Laughing a little, I follow him.

He grabs one of Shakespeare's plays from the shelf and finds a table to read at. Once he gets comfortable, I head to the fiction section and grab a Magnus Chase novel. After I rejoin him, we sit and read for a couple of hours in companionable silence. About halfway through my book, I glance at the clock. The time has flown; it's already afternoon.

I alert Loki to this and we grab a quick lunch at a nearby café. As we ride home, Loki wraps an arm around my shoulders and kisses my temple lovingly.

"We aren't done yet. There's one more thing that we have to do today," he says mysteriously. The limousine stops at the tower and Loki escorts me inside. We take the elevator back to our rooms and Loki opens my door for me.

Laid across my bed is a breathtaking green and black gown with a lacy, black, off-the-shoulder bodice and a full satin skirt in emerald green. A pair  of sparkly gold heels sits at the end of the skirt, twinkling merrily at me. My eyes find Loki's as he smirks down at me, the confusion evident on my face.

"Go ahead and put it on. I myself have to change clothes as well. Let me know when you finish."

"It's beautiful Loki," I say appreciatively. "What am I going to wear it to?"

"Stark is hosting a Valentine's Day party tonight. I wanted you to look your best."

"Thank you. I'm sure I will, knowing your fashion sense." Loki smiles down at me as I run a hand down the skirt. He clears his throat.

"Well, I'll leave you to change. Tell me when you're done and I'll put the final touches on your look." I nod and give him a hug. He closes the door and I carry the gown to my bathroom to put it on.

After finally zipping up the back of the dress, I step out of the bathroom and strap on the heels. They're nice and low, so I don't have to worry about twisting my ankles if I take a wrong step. I tell Loki telepathically that I'm finished and he comes in, looking as handsome as ever in an all-black suit, with a matching tie. I can't help the smile on my face as I see him, and from the looks of Loki's expression, he feels the same about me.

"Darling?" he asks hesitantly. I nod yes.

"I knew that dress was going to look beautiful on you, but I had no idea how radiant you would be. My love, you are going to be the envy of every woman in the room tonight," he says smoothly. My face heats; I'm certain I look like a tomato.

"Thank you. You look stunning as well," I tell him shyly. He flicks his wrist and my hair is pulled into a half- up style with curls flowing down my back. A black choker rests against my throat, a diamond pendant hanging from the center. A simple gold circlet graces my forehead, making me look like royalty.  I feel like royalty.

I take Loki's proffered arm and allow him to escort me to the ballroom. The moment we walk in, the room goes dead silent. I can feel the eyes on me and hide my nerves, masking them with a look of confidence. I smile brightly at the guests, many of whom are giving me envious looks. It seems Loki was right.

I am the envy of every woman in the room.

Everyone eventually goes back to their own conversations and I breathe a sigh of relief. Loki and I move around the room, making small talk with a few guests and answering questions from the press as the DJ plays  the music. The hours pass surprisingly quickly, and finally, the last slow song of the night begins to play.

Loki places both hands on my waist this time. A bit surprised that he'd bothered to learn the modern slow dance, I rest my hands on his chest, pressing closer. My head soon follows, and Loki tightens his grip on me and starts to sway. I let out a contented breath as I look around. Other couples are following our example.

Loki leans his head down to whisper in my ear. Before he can pull back completely, my right hand comes up to cup his chiseled cheek. He lays a finger underneath my chin and tilts my head up a little further before gently pressing his lips to mine. He is gentle and passionate, pouring all of his unspoken emotions into the kiss. It's absolutely perfect.

    "Happy Valentine's Day, Love."

    "Happy Valentine's Day, Loki."
