It was exactly 12:36 when the clock had stopped working. Lizzy went into the kitchen to look for some batteries in the drawer but she found none. And the atmosphere in the kitchen was creeping her out. So she simply went back to the living room to watch the latest episode of her favourite crime story.
Her head subconsciously jerked back when she thought she heard a slight creek. She thought it simply must've been her imagination. After all watching horror stories does kinds mess with your brain a little.
She turned the tv off since there wasn't anything interesting on it. She went back upstairs to tell the kids she was babysitting good night and check on them if they were sleeping.
The elder kid, Jacob was fast asleep, she caressed his hair and gently kissed his forehead and whispered good night.
The younger one, troy on the other hand was sweating profusely and muttering something under his breath. He kept repeatedly saying the same thing "the clowns gonna get me, the clowns gonna get me! " It's ok troy, lizzy said.
It's just a statue.
Lizzy too thought it was odd that the Crenshaws kept such a huge statue of a clown in their bedroom. Mr and Mrs Crenshaw didn't seem like the people who's keep such mementos. She called them to ask them when they were coming home.
Ring... Ring....
Ring... Ring....
Mr Crenshaw: oh hello Lizzy have the kids gone to bed already? I'm sorry we're running late but we'll get there as fast as we can.
Lizzy: oh that's alright, Mr Crenshaw. The kids are fast asleep. Although troy is a bit scared of the giant clown statue in his bedroom. I was thinking if you don't mind if I cover it up?
Mr Crenshaw: Lizzy! Get the kids and get out of the house. We're calling the police.
Lizzy: ah- but why? I don't understand. What's the big deal?
Mr. Crenshaw: run for your life. Because.... Because..... We don't have a clown statue...
A loud thud is heard and the call gets cut abruptly
Mr Crenshaw: Lizzy? Lizzy??!! Is anyone there?!! Lizzyyyy
