It's lonely in Mobius (A Sonic Fanfiction)

The name 'Freedom Fighters' is ironic in its own sense, considering all it's members had to lose something in order to fight for freedom. I myself have also lost a few things very close to me. Whether it was a treasured childhood toy, or a friend. I would say family, but I never got to meet them personally. I'm a member of the 'Freedom Fighters' myself, so I might as well tell you a bit about myself.

My name's Amy Rose, I'm a pink furred hedgehog who's weapon of choice is a gigantic sledgehammer. Although it was hard to swing around when I was younger since it weighed a ton. But, the more I swung it around, the better I got with it. It was a real drag to use though, so I usually left it at home until I wanted to use it. That was horrible mistake on my part. A robot army came out of nowhere and decimated the village I grew up in. I grabbed my hammer from my home when I had the chance and stood off against a robot. Although, my efforts to safe myself and everyone else was proved useless as I couldn't even dent the machines. I was forced to flee the village, terrified, I had no idea what happened to the other's but I couldn't turn back, not if I wanted to be killed or taken hostage. Heh, although I'm fairly certain nobody would want to save a weak girl like myself...

After being chased into the forest, I was too afraid. Fearing for my life, I used whatever resources I could find and had to fend off the anyone who I deemed as "scary." It was hard living in the wilderness, but it wasn't as hard as growing up alone. Of course finding food was a bit harder since I had to find it for myself. But I managed. Living in the wilderness managed to touch me up somewhat, I even learned how to properly wield my sledgehammer without any difficulties! And when a robot stumbled across the forest, I could do much more than leave a dent in them now. Heh, I don't mean to brag, but I'm pretty strong now! Some strangers would wander into the woods every now and then, being chased by bandits, robots or getting completely lost. And of course, I wanted to help out anyway I can.

Eventually, word of my good deeds were spread across some parts of Mobius and one day, I got an unexpected visitor. A blue hedgehog who's speed was unmatched. His name? Sonic. I was head over heels for him from the moment we met... However, he didn't come to ask for a date, he came to invite me to the 'Freedom Fighters.' I immediately agreed if it meant I could get closer to this Sonic fellow, but it didn't exactly work out like that...

Once I was introduced as a new recruit to the 'Freedom Fighters,' Sonic introduced me to Sally Acorn, the leader of the 'Freedom Fighters.' She was incredibly nice and even gave me a tour of their headquarters. I learned that before she founded the 'Freedom Fighters,' she owned a small family business that was cut off by a man going by the name of Robotnik. Sally of course didn't want that to happen, and managed to pull her families business out of the gutter. Enraged, Robotnik sent his robotic army out an destroyed the business entirely. I of course could related, considering I lost my village to the very same robotic force... But I had no idea who was the one controlling and making these robots behind the scene. Finally I had a name, I didn't care what they looked like, they were going down.

A few weeks later, I had gotten a message from HQ. A village not too far from the HQ was being attacked. I was one of the few who were deployed to deal with the issue. It was yet another attack issued by Robotnik. There was little to no issue with destroying the robots when I got there, but the village was far from savable. Just when all hope was lost, I saw a young lop-eared rabbit girl with cream fur. Ironically, I would come to learn that her name was Cream. She was being attacked by robots and of course I just wasn't gonna let that slide. Saving her from the robots, the girl thanked me. I smiled and shook it off like it was nothing. Cream explained to me how her mother had sent the young girl off on an errand to buy some fresh vegetables from the village, but her little shopping trip was cut short when a bunch of robots invaded. In time, I managed to befriend Cream and her mother, Vanilla. Cream even got recruited into the 'Freedom Fighters.' Although, for some reason whenever I'm around the girl clings today me like magnet... Maybe the other members scare her? But she never seems scared...

... Sally and Cream are the only friends I have left. A villain far greater than Robotnik appeared and killed off everyone I loved and cared about. I... Don't know his name. But I do know the body he's using.
