The Day Will Come

Far above

The stars are shining

They give the trees

A silver lining

The sky is laced

With thickening clouds

They hang over the world

Like dark blue shrouds

Freezing air

Fills my lungs

I tear through the forest

Winter comes

My feet pound

Against the ground

The only noise in

A world without sound

Rain starts to fall

I close my eyes

Against bolts of lighting

Of astonishing size

I do not stop

It's hard to see

My body aches

But I have to be free

Dust clouds my view

My hands are numb

But I keep running

The day will come
