Dick is the one to sit with Lewis while he goes through alcohol withdrawal. He sticks with him through the anxiety, insomnia, hallucinations, outbursts of anger, the shaking, the sweating, the vomiting, and so on. Even though many times through it Lewis tries to convince Dick to leave, Dick doesn't. And by the end, when all is said and done, their relationship is far stronger than it was. And Lewis couldn't be more grateful for having Dick.
