The whole town is going crazy. There's been a killing. Noah Maxwell, the town's judge, has been found in the woods. His throat ripped to shreds and his heart ripped out. While everyone was claiming that it was an animal attack, Christian knew better.

"Why did you do it?" Christian asked leaning against the doorway to her bedroom.

"A simple 'thank you' would suffice," She says smirking deviously into the mirror, looking at him through the reflection.

"What did he do to you to piss you off so much that you would risk exposure?" Christian asked frowning his eyebrows. The deviousness leaves her face and she looks away from him. He walks into her room and sits on the bed beside her vanity.

Christian knows who Katherine Pierce is. He's seen her, who she really is. She's even told him. When she first arrived, she instantly had his brothers around her finger. When she tried to get him as well, when she tried to seduce him, she found out his little secret. Instead of forming a relationship with him like the ones she has with his brothers, she formed a friendship.

She didn't compel his friendship. The only thing she compelled him to do is keep her secrets, to not tell his brothers or anybody the truth. Once she did that, she confided in him. She told him things that she's never told anybody else because she knew she could trust him.

"He used you," She told him with a shrug as she regains her composure. Christian frowns his eyebrows. "Damon told me what he did and I'm not about to let that continue," She said turning to look at him.

"Why would you help me?" Christian asks. Katherine grins.

"Because whether you believe it or not, I like you. You're the closest thing I have to a friend," Katherine shrugs. "And I'm not going to let you get treated like that, not while I'm around," She says looking back into the mirror, continuing with her makeup.

"Thank you" He whispers honestly. Katherine smiles softly at him.

"Chris, where's Da-" Stefan stops himself as he comes into the parlor. Christian snaps out of his thoughts and looks at his brother. "Really?" Stefan gives him a look.

"What?" Christian asks innocently.

"You said you weren't here to play games. I have to worry about Damon doing shit around town, now I have to worry about you too?" Stefan asks crossing his arms. He had thought he wouldn't need to keep track of Christian, he's usually the easier brother to deal with. Christian's usually the simplest of his older brothers, give him a drink and some entertainment and he won't cause trouble. Stefan hadn't taken into consideration the type of entertainment Christian attracts.
