I sat on the motel bed with my oldest brother, Dean, watching the TV with the subtitles on so I knew what was going on too. In the middle of the episode of 'Scooby-doo', we were watching, Dean suddenly looked over to the door. I followed his gaze to the door, which now stood open with Sam walking in. He closed the door and looked back at us walking toward the table in-between the TV and the door. He set the food bags down and started talking, signing along with his words. Anytime they speak while I'm in the room they sign along with it so I don't feel left out.
[Hey guys, I picked up some food from the diner across the street.] He stated then pulled the food out of the bags and set it on the table. Dean got up and to his bacon cheeseburger as soon as he saw it and immediately opened the box, taking his first bite before even sitting back down. I chuckled at him and took my cheeseburger from Sam's hand when he held it out to me and signed [Thank you] at him as I sat down.
Sam sat down on my left side while Dean sat on my right and we all watched the TV while we ate our dinner. In 5 minutes, Dean had already finished his burger and had gotten up to get his fries, blocking the screen for about 30 seconds. By the time he sat back down, it was a different scene and the subtitles were completely different so I had no idea what was going on since I couldn't hear what was going on while Dean blocked the screen.
I could feel my eyebrows scrunch up in confusion as I tried to use what they were saying to figure out what happened when the screen was covered up. Dean tapped my shoulder after a second and I looked over to him.
[They found a trap that the monster set up. Now they're trying to figure out where it went after it set the trap.] He signed to me with an apologetic look on his face for blocking the screen.
[Ok, thanks, Dean, I was more confused than I was when Paris Hilton killed a girl after Sam was attacked by Gandhi.] I responded, and I could see him laugh, probably a little too loudly as I could feel Sam's weight shift as he looked over at us, and I looked over at him. I didn't bother signing this time, knowing my speech isn't too bad - as far as I'm aware at least, and just said "Gandhi". That was all it took for him to playfully tackle me and start messing my hair up. I erupted into a fit of laughter as I tried to push him off of me, but that only got harder as Dean started tickling me as Sam smothered me.
After a few seconds of us acting way too childish for 2 adult men and a 15-year-old girl, we all calmed down and they went back to how they were both sitting while I stood up. Sam playfully pushed me one last time, and I pushed him back and immediately ran to the bathroom and shut and locked the door. I could feel him pound at the door but he gave up after a few seconds, knowing that I had won since I wouldn't be able to tell what he was saying if he spoke.
I stayed in the bathroom for just a few more seconds with my hand on the door just to be safe, then peaked out, checking for brothers. They were both sitting on the bed staring at me with amused smiles on their faces. Deciding it was safe enough to come out, I step out of the bathroom and sit back down on the bed and eat my food. By the end of the episode, I had finished my burger and thrown my trash away. It's gotten pretty late and I was really tired, and since we just finished a case, we aren't on one right now, I figure it would be a good time to catch up on some sleep.
"I think I'm gonna go to sleep now," I said, not bothering to sign again, knowing it would be sloppy and hard to understand as I walked over to the small couch on the wall by the window sluggishly.
I layed down on the couch and looked over to my brothers, they both signed 'Ok, goodnight' and turned their attention back to the TV. I set my head down on the arm of the couch, just now realizing how uncomfortable it was, and I forgot to grab a pillow. It was an unspoken agreement that if there was a couch, I slept on it, since both my brothers were the size of bigfoot, and I would steal a pillow from one of their beds. If the room didn't have a couch I would usually share a bed with Sam even though he's the height of a skyscraper, Dean always claimed that he got to sleep alone since he was the oldest. Lame excuse but whatever, Sam moves in his sleep a lot less than Dean. And he smells better.
I stood up and walked over to the bed closest to me and grabbed the top pillow, seeing a hex bag underneath it.
"Uh, Dean?" I said, picking up the bag. He looked over at me and when his eyes landed on the bag, he instantly stood up.
[Looks like somebody doesn't like us here. Guess we've got a case anyways.] He signed as he spoke, ending with what looked like a sigh. He looked over to Sam and pointed at the other bed, saying something that I couldn't see, but judging by the fact that Sam walked over to the bed, He probably told him to check that bed for hex bags.
He turned back to me and started to sign something, but I didn't have to wait, I already knew what to do. I went over to the couch and took the two cushions off looking for any bags. I pulled one out from where the left cushion was and held it up. I set it on Dean's bed - the one closest to the couch - and went into the bathroom. I checked under the sink for any bags and found one tucked into the pipe. Somebody really wanted to make sure we were taken care of. I walked back into the room and threw that one onto the bed too.
Even though we already have four sitting on the bed, I felt like something was still off. I followed my gut and walked toward the dresser. I looked behind the TV and searched for a bag; I found one hidden pretty well between the dresser and the wall. I reached back and could just barely reach it and pulled it out. I threw it onto the bed and finally felt like we had gotten them all.
I turned back to my brothers who were both facing me, a little surprised that I knew there was one hidden back there. [Looks like someone really wants us gone.] I signed at them while I spoke, just in case my words weren't very clear since I can't hear myself to pronounciate correctly.
[Looks like. Ok, Sammy, you look to see if there are any witches in the area that would want to get rid of us, Maria you help him, I'm gonna go to the library.] Dean ordered.
[Ok, guess I won't be getting that extra sleep then. Come on Sammy let's use that Stanford noggin of yours and find this little witchy] I said as Dean put on his jacket and grabbed his car keys.
[You go ahead and get some sleep, I'll wake you up when I find something.] Sam responded while turning to grab his laptop from his bag.
[Ok, but if you don't find anything in an hour, you wake me up. Whichever comes first, wake me up. I want to be helpful too.] I signed, then grabbed the pillow I was going to use earlier. He nodded his response and I layed down on the couch.
