Ana woke up excited about the day. "Ah it's my sixteenth birthday!" she screamed bounding out of bed to get dressed. "Ana! Time to get up!" her mother called from the living room. You could hear her mother's soul bond bounding around the room. Ana felt a little jealous of her mother she already had her soul bond, Lilly, a tiger. "I'm already up mom!" She yelled as she pulled her favorite shirt over her head and headed down the stairs. Her mother stood in the kitchen with a smile. "Excited?" Ana nodded and smiled at her mother, her red hair falling in front of her cobalt eyes. "So the mark it just pops up on its own?" She looked down at her arms silently praying being a bit disappointed at her blank skin. "That's right. You just go about your day and it pops up, Try to keep an eye out on your arms sometimes it can be painful to get your mark if you're a rider." Ana downed her breakfast grabbing her bag. "Alright i'm going to be late! I love you!" She called over her shoulder as she grabbed her book bag heading for the school.
Ana's class began with a loud squeal. "Ana Wynter where are you? Happy birthday!!" A smile formed on Ana's face as she turned to get tackled by her best friend. "Lacey! Happy birthday!!" she laughed softly and shoved at her raven haired friends shoulder. "Alright girls. May I begin the class now?" Their teacher Mr. Layton asked tapping his foot with a soft smile on his face, his soul bond looked up at the girls purring softly as she shared her soul bonds amusement. "Sorry Mr. Layton." Lacey and Ana said in unison as Lacey let Ana get to her feet and raced to their chairs a bright smile on their faces. "Now class today we are learning about the different marks you can get with your soul bond. Does anyone know the different types of Gryffin marks." A blonde haired girl raised her hand and spoke softly. "There are three different types of Gryffin marks. One being rather large and bright red marking a fire Gryffin, another being a silver marking a wind Gryffin, the last being a bright gold, being the rarest it marks an electric Gryffin." Laceys eyes went wide in excitement. "Oh what id give for my mark to be a gold Gryffin." Ana chuckled softly and scratched a bit at her left arm it had begun to itch so much it was painful. She paid no attention to it as Mr. Layton continued his lesson. "Miss. Wynter what are the Dragon marks?" He smiled softly knowing Ana's love for the dragons. "Black being the darkness dragons, Blue for the water, Red for fire, Silver for wind, Gold for electric, Green for nature, and the rarest three are Violet for cosmic, White for Ice, and the alpha dragons who colors vary for their elements they will control three elements that make up your mark with their colors." Ana beamed happily looking down at her arm a soft gasp escaping her lips. "Ana what is..." Lacey trailed off seeing her own arm the girls squealed loudly. "We got our marks!" The class crowded around the girls wanting to see their marks as Mr. Layton walked over. "Lacey what is yours?" he asked softly motioning for the class to let the girls breathe. "Gold. It's a Gold Pegasus." She looked up her honey colored eyes shining happily. "And yours Ana?" He asked as Lacey turned to Ana excitedly. "Three colors. Red, Purple and Grey Dragon." She looked up. "I thought there wasn't any grey colors in dragons." Mr. Layton smiled softly. "Royal dragons are grey." He said softly ushering the girls out of his class. "Shoo home the academy will already be there they know riders before they get their marks." He closed the door behind the girls as they walked out of the class heading out of the school. "Riders? We are Riders." Lacey breathed shocked. Ana nodded softly lost in thought as a shadow passed over them. Ana jerked her head up. "Riders!" she called as a Dragon landed in front of them a pegasus landing safely after the Dragon landed. "Lacey Kindren and Ana Wynters?" A boy called from the back of a Silver dragon. Ana nodded softly. "Climb aboard we got your stuff from your parents Dragon rider to me Pegasus rider to Laura." The boy nodded to the Red Pegasus. Ana was shocked and climbed onto the dragon easily as if she had been doing it her entire life. "Ana Wynters." She said to the boy. "I'm Drake this is Hawk. He's a wind dragon." The dragon ducked his head to say hello. "May I see your mark please?" Drake asked holding out his hand. Ana gave him her arm allowing him to see her mark. "You're the Royal rider! Good! We've been searching for the rider to that egg for a while now." He smiled brightly his silver eyes matching his dragon's scales as Hawk took off heading south. "We are heading for Lazern the city is the academy city." As Drake explained the lore behind the academy that Ana already knew she tuned him out closing her eyes enjoying the wind rushing through her hair. She already loved flying, relaxing the girl fell asleep.
