"Alright, Alright mom. I got it. I'll talk to you later." You hang up the phone.

Your mom is losing her mind a bit with you moving in the big city. With all the crime and creeps. I'm old enough for the real world and she doesn't really get that. I get that she's worried or whatever, but of course there's going to be crime mom! But there's always a bright side with big cities too, with so many new opportunities.

You finally finished moving into your new place, it's a nice studio apartment on the first floor. It's classy and perfect just for you. You've been so stressed out these past few weeks with moving, you think it's time to get out and adventure.

You hit shuffle on your favorite playlist, putting in only one earbud and start walking. Going by time square and all the nice shops. Including.. the homeless people and crackheads, but as long as they don't come up to you you're fine with it.

You go into a few stores, clothes, antiques, accessories, there's everything in this place. There's so many people on the streets of New York. You're not use to it to be honest. But of course you're not, it's a complete new place and environment to be in. It makes you a bit more anxious and alert you have to admit.

You found another store once again that caught your eye, a nice but big book store. You walk inside hearing a little bell go off as you open the door. It's.. beautiful. You love books, you love stories and fantasies. It's not too far from your house either which is super nice. As you slowly walk through the aisle of books the floor freaks behind you. This place seems a bit old, but that just adds more value to it.

You don't quite know what you're looking for yet, picking up a few books and setting them right down is what you've done so far. Maybe asking for some assistance could help.

Right as you think that, a cute book store guy surprises you. "You need help looking for something?" The man asks.

He has nice wavy-ish brown hair with brown eyes that can pierce your soul. Thicker eyebrows, perfect nose and lips. Seems more on the muscular side too. Man... you can't help but admire his beauty.

"Oh, uh, yeah. I don't really know what I'm looking for really..." You stutter a bit and look at the ground.

Of course, now you act all shy and embarrassed. You better not be blushing.

"Well, I could help you out. It's what I'm here for. What's your favorite genre?" He asks.

"I like (favorite genre)."

"Good choice, follow me." He smiles and signals you to follow him. You did as he said.

After going down the aisle and taking a right, he shows you the selection of books.

"Now, I would recommend these for a girl like you. Don't have to take my word though." He kindly tells you with a nice smile on his face.

He grabs two books for you. You grab it from him and look over the description. They seem... actually a good read.

"I think I'll check these out then." You look back up at him with a smile.

He does a little nod as you two go back to the counter. You give him the books as he scans them for you. You realize his name tag on his chest.

"So Joe, do you like working here?" You ask as he looks up at you.

"Of course, I'm a nerd for books. I'm the owner here actually. This place is really all I need sometimes. Do you like books, uh," He waits for you to say your name.

"I'm (y/n)," You smile and get a little flustered with his stare on you. "I love a good read I can tell you that, I find them relaxing and a good use of time."

"I see we're pretty alike then." He replies.

You hand him your card, he looks at it for a second, and then slides it. He hands it back to you.

"You're all set, (y/n)." He said.

"See you around Joe." You tell him with a smile on your face.

You walk out of the book store. As you walk away from the store you freak out a bit on the inside. You're first day in New York and you already flirted with a cute guy. Those eyes... they're breath taking looking into them.

You head back to your house, plop on your couch and start reading one of the books he gave you.

Joe's pov

I see you walking into the bookstore. Your hair, face, body, attracts me right away.It seems your new to this place. Your body language shows it. You head a direction and I keep my eyes on you, keeping a little distance.

I let you search a little more until I approach you. You seem flustered as I ask you if you need help. Looking away, face getting heated, and a bit of fidgeting. You look so beautiful up close. You have eyes that strike my heart different. A smile that makes me feel warm. I could kiss you right now, but that type of thing only happens in movies.

I lead you back to the section you wanted, and hand you a few books, and I watch you as you read a bit about them. Seeing you focus. I haven't felt like this before in awhile, something has stricken me about you.

As I check you out for your books. You hand me your card. I ended up getting your full name... (y/n +l/n). It fits you. I see you walk out that door and turn left, a big grin on your face. Maybe you felt the same thing I did. I want to get to know you more, (y/n).

A little research about you won't hurt.
