The shark appeared out of the dark gloom of the abyss. It's eyes gleaming at the sight of something moving above. It's grey body swiftly swam closer and closer to the surface. I tried to keep afloat not knowing where I should look. I wanted to keep my vision above the surface so I could try and alert someone to help me. But, I could feel the anticipated dread of where the shark could be now. It could be a few metres from my feet. I looked down into the water and my heart dropped, the creature was close enough now for me to see the white gleaming teeth and it's bead like eyes darting back and forward, looking directly at me. With its mouth wide open it swam only a couple of metres away, circling me. My heart beat seemed to beat a hundred times faster, my breath getting caught in my throat. I looked up out of the water, desperately looking for anybody near me. There was no one. Nobody to save me. As I suddenly came to the fearful conclusion of what was going to happen I felt the urge to look under the water to see if maybe the shark had gone. I couldn't do it. My heart continued to beat quickly and I began to feel sick.

Suddenly, I felt a weird sensation as I was pulled under water with only enough time to take a sharp breath. My eyes adjusted quickly to the light underwater as everywhere around me turned a dark crimson colour. I looked with horror as I saw the colossal shark with its jagged teeth clamped down onto my legs. I couldn't feel my legs anymore, I watched as they effortlessly dangled from my hips. Hoping to maybe escape, I tried to move my arms up and down, praying that I would maybe make it to the surface. White spots appeared in my vision and seemed to expand, blurring my surroundings. I looked up, hoping to see the top of the water near me. Water rushed by my ears and through my hair as the shark pulled me further and further underwater. Knowing no way of surviving, I stopped relenting and accepted my horrific fate as the shark dragged me into the dark gloom of the abyss.
