"Love is possibly the mightiest bond that lives. It runs inside every single living entity within existence. But when this power is shattered, it can reconcile with emotions. Destroy families. Remove power. That is where things go wrong." – Lavaboy

It was a late night for Jerome. Being king was one thing but staying within the bounds of his son's well-being was another. Lavaboy would rest with his mother all day until his father, Jerome got home from gatherings. The meetings that Jerome had recently needed to partake with were with the opposing race, The 'Icerenes'. They were the generally struggling division of the galaxy, spending all their resources on war and soldiers. The two races had a good partnership but the Icerenes planned to shatter that alliance connecting the two races. The Lavacious didn't take notice of this scheme.

Jerome got home later than he had expected. It was one o'clock in the morning and Lucina and Lavaboy had fallen unconscious waiting. Jerome felt somewhat regretful that he hadn't made it home fast enough. He imagined Lavaboy's miserable face as hours flown by. He reopened his eyes, only to find himself back in the darkroom where his partner and son lay. He crept slowly into his bed and slowly closed his eyes.

He awoke the next morning, slumped close to the edge of the bed. Lavaboy had awoken hours before Jerome. He quietly said, "I must have slept in.". He looked out the window to look at his kingdom in all its glory.

Suddenly, A loud explosion occurred from the left of the kingdom. Jerome was shocked. In seconds he rushed over to his throne and put on his crown. He stepped outside to the abruption chaos that was occurring in front of him. Lavaboy, still within the throne room edged closer to the window to see what was happening. The light glimmering off the planet's six moons shone before the war that had begun. The Icers had now put their plans into action. Lavaboy, as small as a child as he was, was able to interpret that something bad was happening. He sprinted as fast as he could to his mother, Lucina. She awoke, surprised that Lavaboy had such an expression of dismay on his face. Lavaboy dragged Lucina over to the window. She gasped at the horror that was taking place.

She ran over to the laboratory nearest the throne room. Scientists had strived to make an outlet pod for everyone but only made one successfully and then sealed the project. It became classified information that only the King and Queen could access the files of. Now that erudition was coming in useful. She searched urgently to find the project. Lavaboy gently walked into the room, questioning his mother's urgency. Moments later the ground shook vivaciously. Lavaboy and Lucina ran outside to find Jerome.

After arriving behind Jerome, Lucina told Jerome the plan. They were to send one person away in case of losing and dying out. Jerome whispered "Lavaboy.". Lucina wept. They dimly nodded at each other, then looked at Lavaboy, his eyes glimmering. Lucina prepared the escape pod. The two wrapped Lavaboy in a blanket. Lucina kissed Lavaboy on the left of his forehead and slowly whispered "Live on.". She finally put in a small red egg into the pod. Jerome then pressed the first button on the pod. The glass closed on the pod, locking Lavaboy inside. Then Lucina pressed the second and final button. The turbine button.

Lucina turned her head onto Jerome's cape and cried. Jerome could not feel anything for what was happening. The pod revved up and accelerated outside the atmosphere. Lavaboy watched as the world he once lived on was shaping into a catastrophic pile of destruction. Seconds later the planet blew into millions of pieces, killing all of its inhabitants and life. The pod was now moving at unmeasurable speeds. Lavaboy slumped back into the blanket. He didn't know what to think. His four-year-old mind couldn't comprehend the facts yet...Days later the pod identified an environment with liveable circumstances. The pod changed course towards the detected planet called 'Exoa'. Lavaboy's pod began to break down as it sped into the planet. The rockets broke and now it was falling from the sky. The pod slammed into the sandy ground and slid a few metres forward through the empty desert.

Lavaboy kicked hard onto the clamped glass and pushed it off. Lavaboy stepped into the strong and harsh winds. His fire hair blew back against the wind and swayed back forward. Lavaboy could see for kilometres, all that was there was sand. Kilometres and kilometres of sand. Lavaboy turned to the other side and saw a figure on the horizon. The figure was edging closer but Lavaboy didn't take it as a threat. Instead, Lavaboy walked closer too.Lavaboy thought about what he was doing. Should he seriously take this first chance of contact or stay as safe as possible? The realisation had hit him like a boulder. Lavaboy edged back a little. He could see the red figure getting further towards him. Lavaboy took a leap of faith towards the figure.

Lavaboy was worried about the world around him. The societies that would dislike him just for who he is. Lavaboy instantly took this chance to become friends with someone before the world would take the chance away.

"Hello?" Lavaboy said softly, Lavaboy was still terrified. The figure reached out his arm and placed it on Lavaboy's left shoulder. The figure responded "Hey, you okay? That explosion from over there seemed very fatal.". Lavaboy responded with a small chuckle of an agreement. The two looked at each other eye to eye. Lavaboy was slightly shorter than the figure.

"My name's Tyler," Tyler exclaimed.

"I'm Lavaboy," Lavaboy responded. Tyler pointed opposite to Lavaboy.

"129 kilometres north is the planets biggest ice sheet, Holaska. If we're lucky we'll get there before dark." Tyler said.

"Well, what are we waiting for?" Lavaboy exclaimed.

Lavaboy and Tyler started the long journey to Holoska, where they would settle for the night. The next few hours were long and tiring for the two, but the relentless determination kept them striving to walk across the desert. Under the extreme heat, Tyler was struggling, but Lavaboy couldn't even feel the heatwaves slamming against his back. Lavaboy stopped and could finally see some ice only a couple of kilometres away.
