Darkness And Light

chapter 1

“Oh come on!" I whined

“Go to sleep cris" my uncle said calmly

“But it's nearly finished" I frowned at him “one chapter left".

He sighed and then chuckled “okay, you little rat" he said as he ruffled my already messy gray hair. “be sure you're asleep at 9 or else-- " I cut him off.

“Yeah yeah, you'll confiscate my phone" I say

“and?"

“there's an and?" I asked while raising an eyebrow

“just joking" the old man said as he laughed causing me to grin sheepishly. “okay kiddo I'm going to sleep" he said as he exits my room.

“ Good night uncle john" I shouted as I took out my phone and continued what I left behind.

I dropped my self on my comfy bed and yawned as I looked at the clock. Normally I would sleep at 12 midnight but tomorrow's the first day off school. I never liked school, my classmates always makes fun of me due to my slim body. I gazed at the black ceiling for a moment and closed my eyes...

time pass but I can't seemed to sleep, I groaned in annoyance as I sat up. It's weird that I'm tired but can't sleep. I stood up and started roaming around the room, I don't have that much stuff in here, well I have pictures with my mom  when I was still a baby. I can't help but feel a little sad. I took the picture frame and caress my mothers face.

She left me with my dad when i was little, Eventually dad died when I was 2. since then uncle's the only one who's been taking care of me. I put the picture frame back, And switched off the lights as I walked straight to the window.

The moon hovered over tall silhouettes of trees, I smiled as I gazed at billions of stars blanketing the night sky. star gazing is one of my favorites, I opened the latch and lifted the medium sized window open.

I  shivered as a cold breeze hit me. I hugged my self trying to keep warm as I inhale the cold crisp air coated with pine scent. I was stunned as I got a better view of the starry sky. lifting my hand I traced the constellation named big Dipper using my fingers.

Over billions of celestial bodies only one stood out, The moon was quite bright tonight as it were in it's fullest.
It's light reflected on the nearby river as fire flies hovered above it making it seemed magical.

A figure made me look as it approaches the river, I squinted my eyes as I tried to determine what it was.
It was a silhouette of a girl . she sat down on a rock near the water facing my direction. Good thing the light are off or she have already cought me staring at her. She then started fiddling with her hair, or atleast it kinda looks like it.

Moments passed and she stood up, taking out what seemed like a small box out of her pocket and placed it on the rock. Music started playing softly, her body followed the soft melody as she dance. I was stunned by dancing skills it was rather impressive. I look it awe as Fireflies circled around her as they participated.

I stayed still as she looked at my direction making me feel nervous, she can't see me right? it feels like she's looking at me directly making me more nervous. She then Picked up the box and the music ended, The sound of the crickets singing and the Rustling of leaves was the only thing that can be heard.

The girl disappeared in the shadowy part of the river, I pop my head out the window as  I scanned the area but I didn't see her. I waited for a couple of minutes hoping she'll come back but didn't, I closed the window and headed to bed.
