She smiled politely, ever so professional. It grated on Ari's nerves.

"You're a bit young, are you sure that your parents said it's fine to go out?" She smiled again, her business smile and the distaste in her voice contrasting.

To the onlookers, she seemed professional. To Ari it was a haughty, self-satisfied smile. Ugly.

In a quiet, almost unheard voice, if one wasn't listening hard enough, he said, "It's fine." No. It wasn't fine. It's not okay.

He took a deep breath, not even getting angry anymore. Digging through his pants, he found the amount of cash she said he had to pay for his groceries.

It was much, much, much more than what the actual price of the groceries were. She had jacked up the price, and told him how much to pay. From forty-seven dollars and eighty-three cents to sixty-four dollars and twenty-one cents. But it was fine, Ari was used to it.

He walked home, to the jeering cries of all of the passersby, both children and adults. Coming to his house, he entered. It was quiet.

A chill went down his back, his house was never quiet. Ari didn't like silence, so he would leave the T.V. on, or let the radio play.

But it was coming, he knew it like how he knew that the bullying would never stop. Resigning himself to his fate, he dropped the groceries and walked upstairs. Almost immediately, a knife shot out.

He numbly watched as it sliced through his skin, embedding itself into his stomach. Looking up, he saw the wild and unfocused eyes of his dad.

His dad started slurring, "If youuu wernt bourn, everthwing wouled  been fiine. Yo shoushluded died aloong timem ago."

Ari looked down, seeing the blood slowly stain his white shirt red. He was feeling cold and hot at the same time, distantly feeling the pain. Both physically and mentally, of getting stabbed and getting stabbed by his dad.

"Why?" Ari's voice cracked. It was the small voice of someone that was on their breaking point. "I'm only seven. WHY? Why? Why?"

He felt a small spike of pain as his legs couldn't support himself anymore, coming crashing to the ground.

Why?

Was I wrong for not fighting back? For not speaking up? Can somebody help me here? Can somebody tell me where I went wrong?

Can somebody tell me why?

A/n: Soooooo... yeah. Okay... welp, feed back please!

Right, can someone tell me what genre this would be in. It's kinda conflicting for me.
