Eunice smirked, her small frame rocking back and forth in her chair as she made another move with her black figurine. "It has been seventy years and you're still bad at chess." She snored before taking another one of Clare's white pieces.

The long doors to the room swung open making both females glance to the side at the two figures that entered the hall.

"It's good to see you elder Whine" Clare stated seeing the long-legged vampire tiptoe towards them, a certain male next to her. "And you elder Owl."

Whine had a one-piece swimming suit on that well complemented her built figure. Owls fashion choices were more bland, to say the least, a simple one-colored pair of swim shorts and a small, old towel hugged the male's white frame, that green emerald still hanged loosely around his neck. The man looked like a wet rat, with moist hair glued to his forehead, hunched over figure and a deep, irritated scowl on his pale face, Owl was not giving off a very friendly vibe.

"Oh come on, don't look so grumpy. Everyone needs to go have a swim from time to time." Whine said clapping the male on his back making him flinch. "Really I'm proud of you, I knew that getting over fears is not easy." She smiled making the scowl on Owls face smooth a little.

"Oh, so you guys went swimming?" Eunice asked, raising a brow.

"Yeah Eunice, if you couldn't tell by the fact the I'm drenched in water!" The man hissed like a cat, turning on his heel and storming out of the room. "I'm gonna go look for a bigger towel."

"Owl, wait!" Whine tried to stop him but the vampire bolted down the hallway leaving trails of liquid behind him.

"Ah, leave him be. You know how much he hates water." Clare waved dismissively, not tearing her stare away from their game.

"Trauma does bad things to people." Eunice hummed, glancing at Whine that threated her fingers through the goldish dreads on her head.

"Pfft, oh please! All of that happened ages ago, he should move on and find himself somebody else, not ponder over corpses that have disintegrated long before some of us were even born." The older looking vampire scoffed dismissively, harshly putting down another chest piece.

"You're too young to understand certain things." Whine said, hopping onto the marble table and tiptoeing towards them.

"Just because I'm not more than a thousand years old like you two, doesn't mean I don't understand how grief works." Clare hissed back making the two other females smile.

"Awww, is little Clare upset?" Whine mocked, ruffling the vampire's white hair making her wince and struggle against her grip.

"Agh, get off me!!" The older looking lady swatted the vampire's wet hand away that was flickering the cold, lake water all over the table. Clare harshly took another one of her game pieces and crashed it on the board in anger, unknowingly she moving the piece that was blocking the king from being beaten leaving it wide open for Eunice to strike. The young-looking vampire grinned and wasted no time before taking her slim king figurine and striking down Clare's emperor, making it roll across the checkered board.

"AGH FOR FUCKS SAKE!!" Clare shouted, snatching the king before throwing it across the spacious room as it crashed into the wall like a bullet, creating a small hole.

"I won!" Eunice declared, throwing her hands in the air "That was my 321st win!"

Whine was laughing way too hard for her own good as the old looking made glared at her, baring her sharp canines in annoyance. "Oh shut up…"

"You're acting like a kid, Clare." Eunice laughed.

"She is a kid though!" Whine doubled down with a huge grin.

"I. AM. NOT. I am 145 years old!!" The vampire screeched in anger frantically.

"That's still a kid compared to us." Eunice chirped, stacking the chest pieces back onto the board.

Before Clare could continue her banter a soft knock on the doorframe interrupted her trail of thought. Noah walked into the room with tense shoulders and his sword gripped tightly in his palms, Otto was next to him, a large red muddish stan on the side of his hip that immediately grabbed the trio's attention. The thick and dull smell of, rotten vampire blood spiked the air around the group making all of their heads perk up as if they were suddenly pinched.

Seeing how frozen the trio was, Otto cleared his throat, looking to the side with a little bit of nervousness that was uncommon for the male to show. "We encountered a lost one…"

If Whine's face could pale further it most definitely would have.

"I just wanted to say that…this is bad. It's very bad. Even though we are far from civilization at this rate humans will find out eventually, that is if there are more of them...and they are running as freely as that one." He bit the inside of his cheek, the wound at the side of his hip was already healed but the man could still recall the way that the claws tore his skin. "Also others won't be happy eighter…the fairies, werewolves, witches…"

At that point, he might have realized that he was rambling on, the words becoming more of a mumble the more he spoke. Otto exhaled heavily and composed himself. "In short, this can become a problem on a massive scale."

"And if we don't try and do something about it we will end up with a massive stack of dead bodies."
