Start from the beginning

I was puzzled at his response, ❝why?❞ Roger shook his head in fear, ❝you just can't.❞

❝what's going on?❞

Roger bit his bottom lip, ❝they- um.❞

❝who's 'they', Roger?❞ I stared at him, ❝-and what did they do?❞

❝I never told you, did I?❞

❝told me what?❞

❝my parents are- homophobic.❞ He sighed out. ❝ok, and-?❞ I anticipated for more information. The short one fiddled with his backpack strap with his free hand, ❝they don't like me liking you.❞

❝wait,❞ I furrowed my brows, ❝how did they-? I- I'm confused.❞

❝I keep a diary,❞ He told me, turning a bright red, ❝-and I guess I left it sitting by my lamp, and they looked through it.❞

❝you keep a diary?❞ I loosened the grip I had on his hand. He nodded shyly, ❝I know I'm a fucking girl, and only girls can have diaries.❞

❝Roger,❞ I sympathetically frowned, ❝I had one—for about two weeks.❞ I laughed at myself. ❝but, anyone can have a diary.❞

My eyes then scanned Roger's body, ❝have they hurt you in anyway?❞ He swallowed, ❝does punching and kicking me on the sides count?❞

❝of course that does!❞ I embraced him gingerly, ❝do you have bruises?❞

I felt him shrug.

❝I dunno. It's kind of painful to touch though.❞ He informed.

Roger fell silent, then asked:

❝are you going to break up with me because of this?❞ He glanced at me with his big azure eyes. ❝just because your parents are homophobic? No. Just because your parents found out you like me and you can't be with me? No. I'll love you no matter what.❞ I kissed the top of his head.

❝-but, the thing is, how are we going to keep this a secret from them?❞ Roger asked. I rubbed my forehead, ❝I don't know. I just wish I've known this earlier...❞

❝I'm sorry.❞ He mumbled against my chest, burying his face in slight embarrassment. ❝no need to apologise, you're fine.❞ I shook my head. ❝but I have one more question, are you really not going to homecoming?❞

❝no. My parents ripped up my ticket once they found out about- us.❞ He told. I lifted my nose up in the air, showing that I understood what he said.

Then an idea popped up in my mind.

❝you know what? Tomorrow, I'll ask Freddie for one. Every year, he buys extra tickets because he calls himself a "ticket dealer" to give tickets to people for more money than the actual price.❞ I briefly said, rolling my eyes at the end.

❝that sounds like a typical Freddie.❞ Roger chuckled softly. ❝everything he does sounds like a "typical Freddie".❞

Roger glanced over at the clock, reading that it was about 3:47pm.

❝well, I've gotta go.❞ He notified me. I also looked at the time and agreed, ❝me too.❞

❝oh so now you have to go home too?❞ The short one mocked my question from earlier. I squinted my eyes at him, ❝shut up.❞

He flashed a quick smile at me, ❝ I love you.❞

❝I love you too.❞

Roger got on his tip-toes, and wrapped his arms around my neck. He pulled my upper body down towards him and pressed his lips against mine.

❝you're so short.❞ I joked, mumbling against his lips. He released from the kiss and stuck out his bottom lip, pouting. He punched my arm and said, ❝you're so annoying.❞

❝I know, you tell me this a lot.❞

❝great, because I thought you needed to hear that one more time.❞ Roger sarcastically smiled.

Starting to walk off to the school's exit, the blonde turned around and waved to me. ❝bye May.❞

I did the same gesture back, ❝bye Taylor.❞

The blonde opened the door and disappeared.

I wish I could take him home with me.
