「 c h a p t e r 6 」

"Chill there tiger. Let's go?" they made their way to the coffee brewer and taeil ran a few tests before he finished a batch.

'How did he know I'm older than him. I mean he looks youn--'

"Its because you look really old hyung" mark said while concentrating on recreating the steps taeil told him

"What the fu--"  did he read my mind again?

"Because you said it out loud hyung" mark said while laughing his ass off resulting in spilled coffee drippin' on the floor.

"Oops?" mark said while smiling sheepishly.

The customers in that shop that can smell the coffee they were making immediately lined up infront of the counter.

The cashier, which is koeun he believe (because he saw her name on the uniform) looked stressed so he asked mark to lend her help.

Taeil continued brewing the beans when the manager came out of the office because of the ruckus.

"Hey you there. I didn't remember hiring you. So can you please get ou--" taeil frowns at what he hears when a customer interrupted at their conversation.

"You wouldn't fire him if you tasted his coffee!" the girl defended taeil at the manager.

The manager then picked an untouched cup of coffee and drinked it.

For like minutes of drinking, the cup was now empty and a satisfied manager was seen.

The manager cleared his throat and said "Okay, you are hired. You can start working tomorrow. Imma just bring the contract and schedule" he walked back to his office when taeil asked a question, being all worried.

"If I'm hired, doesn't that mean you will kick out mark? I'm in need of a job right now, but I wouldn't take if its like im stealing his job" taeil honestly said.

The manager suddenly laughed, not expecting his reaction.

"I like your attittude kid". He went off to get the contract and schedule.

Taeil furrowed his eyebrows but someone tapped on his shoulder.

"I think you already know me but I think a proper introduction is needed. So yeah I'm Ko Eunji but I prefer koeun. So welcome aboard!" she saluted while saying that which he honestly find it cute. Am I a bad boyfriend?

"Ah! So here." She handed a piece of paper that says 'BARISTA FOR HIRE'.

"I think mark will not be fired because of you so dont worry. I was going to paste that paper after my shift so..." she chuckled.

Taeil sighed in relief and gave her a smile.

The manager entered the scene and brought taeil to a nearby table with some papers and a pen.

"Just sign here and you are good to go." the manager said.

Taeil scanned the piece of paper, reading the content.

When he's satisfied of the rules that were laid out, he signed the paper and gave it to the man infront of him.

"Great. So what's your name?"

"Moon taeil" he reached out his hand for a sign of respect to his new manager.

"Lee sooman here" and they handshaked.

"Can I help out in the shop already? Don't worry its free" taeil laughs. The manager agreed and taeil helped the two out.

Taeil exited the shop feeling drained to the bones but he was happy nonetheless.

He rode the bicycle on his way home that is just near the shop.

'I should sleep early today. Manager-nim said to come early and have me water the flowers in the morning everyday' taeil thought

'At least I have friday and saturday to myself lol' he parked his bike and climbed the stairs to his apartment.

He greeted jungwoo and slumped his tired body to his bed, which is surrounded by plushies.

He tried to forcefully not let his eyes close for he has to make dinner but his eyes betrayed him.

So I think this was my longest chapter yet (its actually not that long but whodbwjw)

Sorry for not updating that often. I want to update this every two days but lemme pass our test first 😔✊

Im making Koeun not a negative (?) character here in this story because in a lot of markhyuck fics, she's always the one who ruins the ship.

(but this is not a markhyuck fic. oh well)
