*Y/n's POV*
We left the store and entered the car, which led to an awkward car ride home with a few words occasionally.
Dad's eyes were focused on the road, but I could tell he wanted me to say something, anything.
I hadn't talked to him in a while.

Ding
I looked down at my phone,
It was Lola.
My best friend from my hometown.
When we were younger, we'd ride our bikes around town.
We knew all the hiding places, Lola's uncle was the ice cream shop owner, so we often got free scoops in the summer.

"I'm so excitedddd"
The text read,
Hm.

Oh, right! How could I forget?
Lola was coming to see me!
I'm lucky she snapped me out of this bad mood. The air in the car slowly started to feel less gloomy as I started remembering the face of my dear friend, and the memories that felt so close yet so far.

"What are you smiling at?"
Dad said, as I typed with the biggest grin on my face, to which I was unaware of.

"Lola!"
I exclaimed, not looking up.

"Right, what're you guys going to do while she's here?"
I wasn't really paying attention though.

"Gahhh me too!"
I typed back.

I looked up and saw dad's glance switch from me, to the road, awaiting my response.

"Oh, you know...hang out."
He chuckled.
I looked back down at my phone.

"I'm all packed and ready to go!🤪"
She had wrote,
I smiled again.

Y/n: you're not leaving for another two days!
Lola😚: mhm...and?
Lola😚: I'm just so excited!
Y/n: me too!
Y/n: I'd show you around, but it's such a big place :(
Y/n: I can't even remember how to walk to school!
Lola😚: oh yikes!
Y/n: City life is hard :(
Lola😚: you're lucky in my opinion🥱
Y/n: lucky?🥺
Lola😚: yeah, I've always wanted to get out of this shit town :/
Y/n: I miss it so so much, Lola :(( my friends, our house, even school-😳
Lola😚: Even homeless Joe? :0

I smiled.
Homeless Joe was a man back home.
He had a great shaggy grey beard and was often found singing outside of the small stores around town.

No one knew his name,
But me and Lola used to whisper to each other when we saw him down the street.
"Hey look, it's homeless Joe!"
We always tossed a quarter into his guitar case each time we passed him and his ear aching singing.

"Even homeless joe :)"
I typed back.

*Jaeden's POV*

"Thought I'd find you out here!"

"Hey Mads"
I stood against the wall next to the water fountain, staring at the floor, Maddie Ziegler staring at me, concern filling her soft blue eyes

"What's up Jae?"

I looked up at her, Maddie was always a sweet girl, to everyone really, unless you messed with someone she was close to.
Ever since we started shooting our new show, we've grown quite close.

"Nothing, you?"

"Oh come on, don't lie, I saw your face in there"

I sighed, she was too good at knowing when something was wrong.
"I'm stressed that's all."

She walked over and leaned on the wall next to me.
