Gasping quietly you turned your head to the running stream. It was absolutely beautiful, mesmerizing. You stared at it and sat down at the edge, your feet dangling above the rapid water below. You looked down the stream to your left, a beautiful bridge connected the two sides. Knowing you should probably stay away, you kept staring, letting the curiosity burn at you. You slowly stood up, eyes stuck on the bridge. You walked towards it, Claudette's warning replaying in your mind. You simply ignored it and kept walking.
Once you reached the bridge you stretched out your hand and felt the wood of the railing, it was smooth, obviously sandpapered. Who would put this kind of effort into a bridge around here? You slowly put a single foot on the bridge, carefully putting more and more body weight on the singular foot to see if the bridge would collapse, or maybe even squeak under your weight. There was none of that, you only heard the rushing water below you. You then fully stepped onto the bridge, it was really sturdy. Your nerves calmed as you leaned against the railing and looked out at the river, it was so calming and beautiful out here. Why wouldn't survivors want to come out here? You sensed no danger, and it was so peaceful. But also you were glad they were so scared, meaning you had the forests privacy all to yourself. You sighed, full of content. This is the first time you truly felt at ease ever since you got here.
A twig snapped from the direction of the killers side, bringing you out of your thoughts. Your head whipped to the direction of the sound. "..Hello?" This was all too familiar, remembering the night you got brought here. Shivering at the thought, you backed up slightly. Not wanting to make the same mistakes. Then again, the curiosity burned at you. Can the killers even kill you out of trial? What if it was that one killer, frank? Would he try to kill you if it was him? Hope began to form and you slowly walked to the killers side, as soon as you reached to the end of the bridge you called out, "Frank? Is that you? U-uhm.. it's (Y/N)" your hopes were still high as you were now on the patchy grass. Everything on the killers side seemed.. dead. The branches of the trees were decaying, no leaves to be seen. The ground was covered In dead, patchy grass. You frowned at this, why was it all dead? You wanted them to enjoy the peacefulness of the forest like the survivors did. They didn't care for it anyways. The killers woods just filled you with.. dread.
Again, you were so wrapped up with your thoughts you didn't realize you were now at the edge of the forest, staring in. It was silent, no birds, sounds of bugs, nothing. Then what did the twig snap come from? There had to be someone there, it had to be Frank. What other killer knew you? "Frank?" You called out but once again, not expecting an answer, a growl came from the woods, it was human, but it was filled with anger. Out of the shadows, a figure was sprinting at you, with full speed. Your eyes widened, no it was not frank. You remember this mask, it was the mask of a very iconic slasher film killer.. ghostface?
You couldn't believe your eyes. No way. No fucking way ghostface was sprinting of you. It couldn't be real. That same fear you got with frank let you knew, this was indeed very real. There was just no heartbeat. You squeaked in fear, this guy is so fast! There is no way I'm going to make it out alive. If I can cross into this side.. then does that mean he can cross into my side as well?? If that's the case.. I'm done for.. you thought, still staring at the figure speeding to you. What happens if.. you die out of the trial?.. does that mean you die in real life? You gulped as the realization hit you, you had no way out of this. He would be able to down you so easily. With the stranger now 20 feet from you, you turned around towards the river, upon seeing the water, you quickly thought of a plan to save you damn life. And ran for your life towards the river, you took your last breath of that sweet, sweet precious air as you jumped into the water. As soon as the icy cold water made contact with your skin, you gasped. You couldn't help it. It felt like it was near freezing, maybe even worse. As you gasped you swallowed a mouthful of water, instantly choking on it and struggling to swim to the surface for air, you finally were able to get your head above the water. Instead of taking the breath you wanted, your body forcefully coughed, taking the last of the air out of your lungs and you went back under. Is this how I'm going to die? You mentally screamed at yourself for not going to the bridge. You struggled to swim for the surface, the raging river pushing your body further down the stream, further underneath the water. Your lungs screamed at you for air, but you couldn't.
You felt your body becoming stiffer from the freezing temperatures, you slowly got weaker, and weaker. To the point where you almost accepted death, and it's warm embrace. Your vision getting darker and darker by the second. You struggled to even think. Maybe this will be a good thing.. I can get out of her- your thoughts were interrupted by a loud splash, the force made the water push you to the side a little bit. This made you slowly regain your deteriorating consciousness. Someone jumped into the water right next to you. You knew it was him. And you knew this was it. he's going to kill you and leave your lifeless body floating down the river. You squeezed your eyes shut waiting for the slice of the knife to come, but it never did. Instead, a muscular arm wrapped around your waist. You wanted to keep consciousness so badly, but the lack of oxygen got to you. The last thing you remember is your head being brought to the surface while this unknown male slowly tried swimming to land.
(Time skip because the lack of oxygen made you unconscious for awhile)
You began to regain consciousness. Your closed eyes slowly opened to tiny slits, the first thing you see is that same masked man frantically trying to.. resuscitate you? You groaned in pain, your lungs still burned, you went to bring your hand up to your head but the pain stopped you. Your ribs felt like they were on fire, only on one side thank god. You assumed it was probably from the man doing CPR. the male heard your quiet groan and stopped, examining you intently.
Your blurred vision finally became focused and the first thing you noticed was how intently he was staring at you. He was even holding his breath, looking for signs of life. You weren't 100% sure though, you couldn't see behind his mask. You groan again in pain, but louder this time. Your whole body ached, but what hurt the must where your lungs and your ribs. "What were you thinking?" a soft, but stern male voice mumbled. It almost felt like a dad, he was concerned about the state you were In but also upset at the stupid decision. All you could do was stare at him, unsure if this was an act to try to kill you, or if this KILLER just saved your life. You knew you didn't want to upset him, cause it would end badly, but you were also so scared, you've never been this close to a killer. You go to scoot your body away from him, in hopes he'd leave you alone, or you could take the opportunity to escape. You had to stop yourself as pain shoots through your body, it was almost unbearable. A cry escapes your lips and tears brim your eyes, you really got fucked up. "Tch. That was the most stupid decision I've seen all week, you had a better chance of living if you would've kept running, you know." The killer piped up again, his low voice would've soothed you, if he wasn't a killer.
And with that, he picked you up bridal style, walking to the killers side of the forest. "You can't walk, I might've accidentally broken a few bones. Don't worry though, you'll be okay with me." He said as he kept walking. You couldn't believe your eyes, what was he doing?? A million different scenarios ran through your head. Where was he taking you? To a hook? To a torture chamber? As if he could feel the fear, he answered a question you only said in your mind. "Im not gonna take you to no hook, babe. Even if I wanted to there's none out here. You're coming to where I live, so you can get better." You couldn't believe what he said, it was all too good to be true. No way a killer was going to take you to where they live so you can 'feel better'. "Just try to rest." He said, you looked up at him, you wanted to sleep, you were so tired. But how? How could you sleep knowing you were in the hands of a killer? Your body protested your thoughts, you felt more tired by the second. Letting you eyelids droops to small slits, you murmured a quiet sentence before you gave in "..thank you, goodnight.." and with that, you let the darkness engulf you. The killer chuckled and looked at your sleeping form in his arms. "Yeah, goodnight." He said softly, then continued his journey to the tent he called his 'home'.
