i hope the guilt swells up in your heart like cancer
the regret always at the back of your brain
so it never allows you a single moment of happiness
i hope it keeps you up at night.
tossing and turning,
trying to find the right position
to sleep your mistakes away
in the nocturnal haven
i hope it follows you everywhere,
never sparing a waking moment
to remind you what a sputtering garbage dump you are
i hope it follows you to the end of your life and into the next one
i hope it never fucking escapes you
because it never escaped me
