Dylan's POV Chapter 3

I could see and hear how Dad was trying to have a normal conversation with Holly, but like always she was having none of it and truly acting like my nickname for her 'the sassy queen'. I know this isn't the place to yell at her, but he should tell her to knock it off in a stern voice. She may not listen to him because she never really has in the past. Dad should've been strict when she was a child, but he was actually telling her by his actions that she could walk all over him. I think we might not be in this current situation if he had followed through on his threats and had smacked her bum when she was a kid. I mean at least she would've listened to him, respect the hell out of him and wouldn't be this sassy. Well I can hope so. If I was her father, I would've put an end to all this naughty behavior a long time ago.

Instead of getting involved, I just zoned out. I took out my phone from my pocket and did everything in my power to let this ride itself out. I was about to go on a mission to find Mum, when I saw her coming out of the loo. Mum's a good referee between my father and my sister, well that's what it looks like to me. I greeted my parents with a hug each and sat down at my spot again. The girls took longer to come back to the table. Holly was being dramatically loud, but seriously, when isn't she dramatic?! As Dad was trying to figure out what was going on with Mum and Hol, my sister pushed him away instead.

I was about to get involved when Syd grabbed my arm.

"Don't get stuck in the crossfire. Let your parents take care of this situation. They are her parents too."

"But they don't do a damn thing."

"Oh yeah?" She asked, pointing at Dad carrying Holly out as she screamed.

"More than a decade later, he finally decides to be strict on her."

"Well it least it's something, Dylan."

I simply nodded.

"So how are you, Paula?" Sydney asked.

I zoned out again by playing on my phone and texting my girl. I'm really glad she didn't come tonight because even though she knows how Holly can be, I'm still embarrassed by my sister. Finally Mom called out for Dad and Holly. I don't get why she couldn't physically go check on them. She literally made a scene in the process. Dad came back still carrying Holly over his shoulder.

The real Holly was back, but she didn't stay for long because Dad was working her up again. I don't have a bloody idea why he does that, to be completely honest with you. Mom wanted to give us our space while Dad refused to go. They are just feeding her sass because the best thing to do when she's behaving this way is to ignore her completely. She's more likely to stop if no one plays her games, but our parents play into her hands all the damn time. Holly couldn't take it anymore, so she stormed away while Syd went after her.

This was the perfect opportunity to try to talk some sense into our parents. I just hope that they'll actually listen to us.

"That was fun," Dad smiled.

"So now you consider causing a scene and embarrassing me, fun?" Mum was livid.

"No, I actually meant joking with Holly."

"She wasn't kidding, Dad." (I'm not sure how more clearer I can make this.)

Then Mom compared my sisters again. When will you stop that rubbish? Out of nowhere, Lily starts on a rant how Mom gave her rebel side to Holly. I thought she made some good points, but what the hell does that have to do with anything? I know Lil didn't mean to, but her rant almost lead to a massive fight between our parents about who is to blame for Holly. I personally believe that they should share the blame for her upbringing. Holly is an adult now, so she has a huge part in this mess too. Lily and I decided on getting a private room to not get thrown out and or make another scene. I stayed around to escort Syd and Hol to the new room.
