So I walked up to the front doors, to get their attention. Thankfully they got my settle hint and walked into the bar. I continued to hold the door open for a few people before I stepped inside myself. Lily waved me over.
Before I had the chance to sit down, Sydney hugged me. She's my first crush and even though she's a good wife and an amazing mother, I think a part of me will always want her to be mine. I literally can't thank her enough for all she did to put together my current family.
The girls couldn't stop talking to save their bloody lives. I just wanted to get the ball rolling on this whole drinking thing.
I crossed my arms. "So ladies, are we drinking, or what?"
"I'm the DD, so I'll have a root beer, please. What are you ladies having?" she asked smiling.
I rolled my eyes. "Ha ha."
She put her hand on my arm. "You know I'm kidding, right Dylan?"
I nodded. "Yeah I know."
Then she grabbed my arm and we headed up to the counter to order. While we waited for our food and drinks, I informed her of Lily's half baked plan to force Hol to finally come clean about some things. Syd agreed to help out, but wouldn't tell me her plan. I even pouted at her and everything, but she called me out. There's only a few people who get away with calling me a faker and she's on that list.
When we arrived back at the table with a waiter carrying the food items, Syd took charge and told us where to set things down. I really wasn't listening when my sisters were giving out their drink orders. After I had tipped the waiter, Sydney asked us about our weeks like usual. I tried to give a short answer because I just wanted to drink. Lily was her cheerful self as Holly couldn't shut up. Sometimes I think she has a bigger ego problem than I do.
I shot Hol a look.
"What?"
(Don't what me! You know why I'm pissed at you!)
"I still can't believe the way that Dad allows you to speak to him. It's not fair."
Holly claimed that their relationship has been nothing but easy, which is true, but that still isn't an excuse to treat him like shit. When Syd told Hol that at our parents wedding, Holly said she was very worried about what Dad would've done if she disobeyed him. All this time I thought she had stage freight at the wedding and not afraid of my father. I didn't think that anything and or anyone could scare her. But now knowing this key piece of information, it makes total sense why she was perfect until she turned legal.
Suddenly, Lily tapped on my arm. As I followed her eyes, I had no reaction because I wanted to see how Holly would really react to our parents being in the building.
Holly was blabbering about how she found a loophole in the promises that we said to each other on the eve of our parents wedding. She claimed that if our younger siblings weren't there to witness her disrespecting Dad, it didn't happen. That's complete bullshit to me.
"Do you care to tell Dad that? Because he's right over there."
"Yeah I do care. And like hell he is."
The girls tried to scare Holly, but she dismissed them. So I spoke up.
"Sounds like you want me to flag them down. I dare you to tell him."
"Hell no." (I can read her like a book so I already knew that she was terrified.) "Let's drop this, enjoy each other's company and also these drinks."
Just then I heard and saw Dad's hand slap down on Holly's shoulder. I'm glad I wasn't drinking at the time because I would've spit it out for sure.
Holly has a good poker face, but I saw right through that. I knew that she was scared of my Dad. I have a healthy respect for him too, so I totally get her 'oh crap' face. But according to Holly, Dad isn't her father and has no control over her. But all of that rubbish is a bold face lie. She can't fool me, never could and never will.
