Stur and Broato were at it again. On call. Sharing their art and music like they did every week. The pair were the best of friends. Nothing could change that.
Broato strummed away on his guitar belting out slightly out of tune shanties. Stur with unimaginable grace painted a beautiful portrait of her dear dog Burr... Aaron Bur, sir.
All was at peace. The world was calm. The night was young. And things couldn't get better. Or so they thought.
"He's a liar." A message popped up on Stur's screen.
"What's this?" She muttered quietly, just out of reach of her mic. "A message... From who?"
There was no name attached to the message. Only a dragon emoji followed.
"Something wrong, Stur?" Broato asked, looking closely at his screen. He couldn't help but to notice that her drawing had stopped.
She hesitated. Broato was the only person she was talking to. Of course this message had to be about him.
She began typing a reply. "I know it's you, Broato." And she stopped.
Wait a minute... He's been playing the guitar this entire time. This message couldn't be from him!
"What?" He asked, really really confused now. "What are you talking about Stur? Are you okayay?"
She looked at her screen in complete horror. Who was Dragon? Who would send such a strange message.
Suddenly, a second message appeared. "Don't trust him. He's hiding something from you."
She looked back down at her screen in complete shock. Then back to Broato. Very cautiously she begins to reply back.
"Hm? What do you mean? Whomst is this?!" She types out, whispering the words to herself as she writes.
"Broato isn't who he says he is. You should know by now. Look at him. That's not your friend. He's clearly... A ROBOT." The next message from Dragon comes in.
A robot? This is stupid and not true. Noooo way.
"Stur??! You're starting to scare me. What's going on?" Broato's voice was clear. No stutter, no misspoken words, no emotion. Could it be... He really was a robot?
A look of panic spread across her facial features. Who could she believe? This random message or her best friend she's known for 12 years.
"Stur-" Broato cut himself off. He fell quiet. Little to her knowledge, a message appeared on his screen.
"She's a liar." It said, signed by a small dragon emoji. "You know the truth. Stop lying to yourself."
"Umm... What?" He said quietly to himself. "Funny troll haha XD" He typed in return.
"This isn't a troll... YOU FOOL! Look at her. Look in those eyes. Are those not the eyes of a killer? You can see the faces of those she hurt if you look close enough."
Sure enough, Broato took a closer look and there it was. Faces. So many faces. People screaming crying for help! All reflected in her bright lilac eyes.
Broato took a step away from the screen in sheer terror. This girl was not the friend remembered. Those eyes were not the eyes of the girl he had met twelve years ago. This was monster. A killer. A feind who needed to be brought to justice!
"YOU ABSOLUTELY HORRID BEING!" Broato screamed, looking into the screen.
Stur was horriffied. She jumped in shock. "WHAT? At least I'm a being! You cold mechanical... THINBG!" She points accusingly at him. "I figured it out! The Dragon told me everything!"
Suddenly before things could continue to escalate, another person joined the call. Another two persons to bee exact. It was good friends, Jeff and Saliva!
"Jeff! Saliva!" Broato cried out. "Look into those cold dead eyes! Tell me do you see a killer in those lilac orbs!"
Jeff and Saliva were stunned, but looked deep into the lilac orbs that Stur called her eyes.
Jeff tilted his head in confusion. "What? I don't see anything. She has eyes, yes. But there's nothing strange."
"EXACTLY IF ANYTHING HAS COLD EYES ITS THE ROBOT!!! LOOK AT THOSE SOULESS MECHANICAL LIFELESS ORBS, SALIVA!"
Saliva looked over to Broato. She was right. Cold and dead. But that's how he normally was. There was nothing robotic about this. "Stur, are you sure?"
"But of course!! The dragon exposed him to me! That he was a faKE!"
"The dragon?" Jeff asked in confusion. "Ohhhh I know the dragon!"
"WHHHHAAATTT?" Stur and Broato said at the same time.
"The dragon told me that Stur was a murderer." Said Broato. "Was this all some elborate lie to test our friendship and trust for each other?"
BURSTING THROUGH THE WINDOW WAS A LITTLE DRAGON! "IT WAS I!" SHE SCREECHED.
"GASP!" Said everyone. "ZERMI IS THAT YOU?"
"YeP! That's Zermi alright." Jeff said. "She always does this. Dressing up like a dragon and causing some sort of chaos. That's what you get when your alignment is chaotic evil."
"That is right! I cause trouble because I can! And I looooovvveee being chaotic evil! Because of my tiny hands." Zermi announced. "None of it was true."
"I still can't believe you were so quick to be convinced I was a murderer." Stur said, glaring at Broato.
"You thought I was a robot." He shrugged.
All was resolved and they lived happily ever afterer with trust issues thanks to Zermi's wrath.
THE END.
