"Oh...well that's good..."
"They're gonna come out bit by bit."
Noah suddenly felt even more pessimistic about becoming a vampire.
[...]
Sitting at one of the large dining tables in the grand hall, Noah gulped down on a small cup of tea in his hands. His small figure was draped over with a white, loose pajama, pair of old fashioned shoes gracing his feet.
Biting into a piece of toast the male stretched his arms a little, trying to get rid of the slight soreness in his bones and muscles.
"How is everything?" Salmo asked, walking into the room.
"It's pretty good actually...Beryl is a surprisingly talented cook" the teen replied a little amused, looking down at his half-eaten breakfast.
"Yeah! Especially for a person that for the most part eats only raw meat." The tiny wooden person laughed sitting down next to the boy at the beautifully carved dinner table.
"By the way Salmo..." Noah grabbed their attention "Where are all the members of the Family?"
"Most of them found their rooms deeper in the castle and are most likely sleeping." The tree gremlin stated, watching as a bug crept between their wooden fingers. "They had a long way to travel in order to meet us here."
The male just hummed before returning to his meal. A half-eaten pancake, bacon and a piece of toast with butter, a few pieces of unknown to him vegetables decorating the rim of the plate.
He took a piece of bread but for some reason, it stopped halfway to his mouth.
"Is everything okay?" Salmo asked looking at the male's lack of actions.
"I-I..." Noah breathed out with a confused expression. After a few long seconds, he placed it back onto the plate with a strange look on his face. "I don't want it..."
Salmo looked up with a worried expression "Is it not good after all?"
"No...its just that...I don't feel like I need it." The man muttered out, pushing the piece of bacon with his fork.
"Phase two has begun." Another voice made both Noah and Salmo perk up in their seats.
"Miss Diety. I didn't see you there." The tiny tree person said to the woman sitting across the table, her chin planted on the roof of her palm. "You awoke quite fast."
"I wasn't very fired, the trip from Italy to here was not as exhausting as I thought it would." She smiled warmly. She was wearing a long white sleeping gown, similar to the one Noah saw her wearing at the meeting but that one looked way more comfortable and soft. "So you already don't feel the need to eat human food huh? Man. It seems like the cycle is becoming shorter and shorter with every new vampire."
"Huh..." Noah huffed and looked down at his hands, the skin in a few spots was already significantly paler than the rest. "Will it be painfully...?"
Diety laughed a little "Oh yeah it will. You'll be puking like a pregnant lady."
The teens not optimistic thoughts were written all over his face as he looked up at the vampire.
"Don't worry." Diety jumped onto of the table gracefully as if she waited no more than a feather before tiptoeing up to the boy. She crouched down and placed her plan on top of the boy's frosted locks. "It's going to be over before you know it."
Her smile was gentle and warm, a pleasant contrast amongst the grey painted walls and faint light of the chandeliers.
"Oh and before I forget. Your elder got something for you and asked me to bring it." Diety hopped back onto the ground before lifting something off of the floor.
Soon a heavy metal sword rested in the boy's outstretched hands, it was a way too familiar feeling for the young male. "My family's sword..." he breathed out.
"They made sure to keep the weapon in perfect condition..and...bury your family members respectfully." Diety placed a hand on the boy's back. "We can visit the graves when you're ready."
The vampires soaked with emotion words fell deaf to the boy's ears as he scanned the sword with a sharp gaze. Gripping the handle he raised it in the air, dim light shining across the pale polished blade of the sword. Holding it like that the male let out a faint breath as he realized that the weapon did not fit in his palm as well as it used to.
The sharp nails that already began growing from the tips of his fingers pushed on the handle uncomfortably.
I'm trying my best to push this story into the more interesting parts but that will take some time. I hope this book is okay so far.(• ▽ •;)
