The Crystal Egg

"Mero? Mero look what I got!"

"What?" Mero asks holding out his hands.

I place a blinding clear purple crystal egg in his smooth gentle hands.  His eyes widen when he sees it.

"What do you think?" I ask impatiently. I can see his excitement and his hands shake.

"I, um, I don't know where you find something like this, is it real?" he asked confused.  These crystals are very rare and very powerful.  They're not really crystals, they're eggs with crystal and diamond out shelling.  There made this was so only the strongest Nosen can survive.  We have not found one in our home for years.  They only live in Kisijud, a place where our rivals live, a place that causes trouble.  Not only trouble themselves but for every other place and home out there.

"You good?" Mero asks breaking my thought.

"Yeah, I was just thinking of plotting some revenge on Kisijud when this little guy hatches". I state "We don't even know if that is going to happen and why should you cause our whole community disruption for your own personal problems?" I give him a stare he knows and so does everyone else, it's me "do you think I care" stare. Yes, I know whatever I do will affect the whole community but sometimes it gets boring living and acting perfect. 

"Give me time, this won't hatch for a few months, nothing will happen anytime soon," I say.

"I know you, I've been dating you for over three years."  "And?" I say, "you're going to get yourself into some trouble" Mero says. "Give me" I motion my hands to give back the egg.  "Fine, but I'll be watching you" he teases pointing from his eyes to mine and back.

I hear my door open slowly, the one I made and had everyone sign.  It was my way of declaring everyone to be part of this community.

"Hey", I quickly turn around to see a shiny orange nose and sparkling violet eyes peeking on the frosted glass from my door. 

"Come on in," I say to Mero he shakes off his coat.

"Gosh who knew the frost bunny was going to die today" he jokes.

"Stop," I say nudging him.  "Come here" I take his hand and lead him to the guest room which I'm keeping the egg in a heated bowl with nesting.

"Coolio," he says feeling the orange bowl.

Another knock on the door disturbs us.  I go open it and the immediate immerged energy makes me know what's coming.

Heyyy Gal!" Ana shouts with hands waving all over the air.  She's my best friend who will show her energy even at a funeral.  She's 21, two years younger than me and has the energy like a monkey who's eating their very first banana.  Also, on the monkey subject, Ana can climb up here like one, she's always loved climbing and that's the result of us living in trees.  Well, treehouses that is.

"Hey Ana, whatcha doing? I ask.

"Checking up on ya"

"Well...I've got something to show you," I say walking into the guest room.  "I found a nosen egg"

"Oh My Gosh!" Ana blurts as she sees the egg.

Ana goes to touch the egg but I interrupt her.

"Hey, be careful"

"I am, stop worrying," she says.  "Wow! How'd you get something like this?"

"Well, I was on my morning walk getting some berries and I don't know I just kinda saw it," I say.

"Who do you think put it there?" she says.  Because everyone knows that Kisijud wouldn't EVER let their precious artificial breed Dryads get out of their "special" town.  Ugh, they're so annoying.

"I'm not sure.  All you guys should know is that this isn't being spread to others, it stays between us and only us for now." I say pointing to Ana, Mero and I.
