Found You Again (Josh Dun x Reader)

About 6 weeks had gone by on tour. The first leg of the tour was a short one, so tonight was the boys' last show for the first leg.

As per tradition, the last show was a hometown show in Columbus, Ohio. The bus arrived about 25 minutes ago, and it's now 9:38. The tour manager told everyone to be very careful about walking around too much, because everyone in Columbus would know who they are, and who knows what those crazy people would do.

Josh decided to take you to meet his family, which you still weren't too sure about and it was making you anxious. Josh insists and holds your hand tight to calm you.

Josh called Jordan, his brother, to pick us up as we were pulling into the venue, and Josh just got a text from Jordan, telling him that he is here.

Josh leads you off of the bus into the closed off parking area, where there is a black car with dark windows parked next to the bus. Josh walks with you towards the car, and the driver door opens and Jordan steps out of the car.

He approaches both of you and wraps Josh in a tight embrace, patting him on the back.

"Hey! How've you been, dude," Jordan asks excitedly.

"Pretty good! How about you?"

"Me too," Jordan responds.

"Jordan, this is my girlfriend, (y/n)," Josh says and holds his hand out to you, pulling you closer.

"Hey! It's nice to finally meet you. Josh never stops talking about you," Jordan says as he wraps you in a hug. You giggle and blush, and see over Jordan's shoulder that Josh is bright red.

Everyone finishes their greetings and then gets into the car, with Jordan driving, and you and Josh in the backseat. Jordan brought his dog along, so he is sitting in the front seat.

Everyone makes chit chat and catches up for the 15 minute drive to Joshs house. Jordan pulls into the driveway of a classis suburban house and parks next to 3 other cars.

Josh gets out of the car and walks around to your door, opening it and holding your hand tightly as you approach the front door.

Josh opens the front door to reveal a middle aged couple sitting on the couch and a girl your age. They all jump up and walk towards the boys, hugging them tightly.

They all stand in front of you, smiling and staring at you. Josh wraps his arm around your waist, smiling at you.

"Everybody, this is (y/n). My girlfriend," he says.

You blush and wave at everyone shyly.

"Princess, this is my mom, dad, my sister Ashley, and of course Jordan," Josh tells you quietly, pointing at everyone as he goes.

"It's so great to finally meet you, (y/n). My other daughter, Abby is not in town right now," Joshs mom says.

Everyone walks to the living room and sits down. Josh pulls you against him and plays with your hair.

Everyone talks for a while, and Laura and Ashley make lunch for everyone. You all eat and around 3:30, Josh stand up.

"I'm going to take (y/n) down to the creek for a little while before we have to leave for the show," Josh announces.

Everyone smiles and nods. Josh holds his hand out for you and pulls you up with a smile.

You both put your winter jackets on and Josh leads you down a path and to an opening where there is a small creek.

Josh sits down with his knees bent and you sit in front of him, between his legs. He wraps his arms around your ribs and rests his chin on your shoulder. You reach your arm back and wrap it around his neck.

Because it is winter and almost Christmas, the sun has already began setting.

"Josh I can't wait to marry you," you whisper.

"Are you sure that you're already ready for that? We haven't been dating for that long. I don't want you to regret anything because we didn't wait long enough," Josh whispers.

"I don't think I'd be ready at this point with anybody else but Josh, we've know each other since we were little. I think I am ready, though. Whenever you're ready I'll be ready," you say softly.

Josh stands up again, pulling you up again.

"I want to show you one last thing before we have to go back," Josh whispers and leads you further down the creek to a beautiful and complex wooden bridge.

You both stand on the bridge, leaning on the side and staring at the water. Josh turns around and fiddles around in his pocket.

You turn to look at Josh and he slowly got onto one knee and looks up at you with soft eyes.

"Sunshine, I'm ready. I've never been more ready for something. I'm so incredibly in love with you and I'm ready to make it official."

You stare at him in disbelief for a few seconds and he pulls a little black box out of his pocket.

"(Y/n), I love you so much. Will you marry me?"

You feel tears start to prick at your eyes and your lips upturn in a smile.

You nod, unable to speak and he stands up, wrapping his fingers in yours. He moves a hand to your neck and pulls you about an inch away from him.

"Words, beautiful," Josh whispers with a smile.

"Yes, Josh. Yes of course I'll marry you," you respond in a soft whisper and Josh smashes his lips against yours.

Josh pulls away and takes your left hand, sliding a beautiful ring onto your finger. He hugs you tightly for a few minutes and pulls you onto his back, starting to walk back to his house.

You get back to his house and walk into the door, Joshs whole family staring at both of you, expectingly.

You look at josh and he lightly smirks and nods at you. You turn back towards the family and you both nod with a big smile.

Everyone says their congratulations and You both get into Jordan's car and he drives you back to the venue.

By the time you get back to the venue, there's only 30 minutes until Josh has to go on. He rushes back to his dressing room and quickly changes into his stage outfit.

Josh calls you on stage during Tear In My Heart like he has every other time. He holds your hands tightly.

"Hello Columbus. I'm sure you've all seen me do this before, but I'm introducing you to (y/n). The love of my life," he pauses while the crowd erupts. The quiet down eventually and continues, "the love of my life and my fiancée."

The crowd gets even louder and you smile and blush, burying your face in his shoulder.

Josh lifts your chin and presses a kiss against your cheek one last time before he walks you off stage.
