Wolves, vampires, witches, they're all supernatural out there to ruin our world. It's my job to make sure they don't.
I knew about the undead since a young age. My parents fought against them and brought me up fighting and learning to defend myself. It wasn't until I was fifteen that my father and I joined a private company that was made to stop the vampires and wolves. No one knows about the company, in fact, the supernatural aren't known around here. We have managed to keep it under control. A few people go missing or get hurt but we have the skills to make them sound like they're wacky bastards to the media. It's worked so far.
"Remember if my mum asks, I was at yours all last night."
"What?" Lucas hit me out of my thoughts.
"You weren't listening, were you?"
"Sorry, I was just thinking." I muttered.
"About what?"
"Work, I'm just stressing over what Ryan told us last night."
"You mean about how a swarm of fucking vampires are coming this way? Nah, we'll be fine."
"Keep your voice down, we're in bloody lesson."
"Caleb Morales and Lucas Lang! How many times do I have to tell you to keep your mouths shut in my lessons?"
"Apparently twice, miss." I kicked my legs up onto the desk.
"Detention, the both of you." The teacher returned to her board and I could feel Lucas glaring at me.
"Great going, now we have to stay in this shit hole for an extra hour."
"This is your doing as much as it's mine."
"Boys!"
"Sorry." Lucas and I said in sync.

Both Lucas and I dragged our feet into the cold, empty room waiting for a teacher to turn up. The walls were grey and the floor was sticky.
"Do they ever clean this room?" Lucas asked ripping his shoe off the floor.
"I'm going to say no." I pulled a chair out and plonked myself down.
"We could totally get out of this."
"Yeah, but it's only an hour."
"We're the only ones here-" the door got kicked open and in came bitch of the year, Addison. Her feet were clamping against the floor as her little black heals hit the ground.
"This place is fucking disgusting. It should be against the law to allow people to be in here."
"Quit your complaining and sit your ass down." Lucas swung back on his chair.
"Excuse me? Why don't you mind your own business?" She slowly sat down and turned her attention towards me. "Hello, Caleb." She smiled at me.
"Hey, quit gawking at my buddy." Lucas spat.
"Oh, just because you don't get any attention."
"Why you in here anyway? Aren't you miss perfect?"
"I am," she tilted her head up in vain. "But that little slut, Esme started shit."
You mean that beautiful girl with stunning blue eyes. Yes, I admit I have a little crush, who doesn't? She is one of the prettiest girls in the school. "I hate her and her stupid pink hair." Addison spat.
