Mia POV

I grab the hot latte with 2 espresso shots and head out of the cafe as fast as I can. Arriving at work late would land me in a bad spot, seeing the quarter was coming to a close and I need to be on top of the companies finances. Not only was I lucky enough to get this big time gig as my first job, but they were will to teach me even though I had no experience. This being my big break after college I am eager to not mess up. The cafe I go to before work every day is only 2 blocks away from the building, but because it's a 6 story building you can see it from here. Takes me little over 10 minutes to get up to 5th floor to my desk, which lands me only a few minutes late. Hopefully they go unseen or disregarded, but my boss he always knows when I'm late so I expect to hear from him soon. He always rides me to be at work early and stay late but I am soon to be on contract so the hours won't be so strict. I remind myself of that every time he tells me to come early. It's only until I get contracted then he has little weight on my start and end time, atleast down to the minute.

Without a doubt, only 15 minutes pass before I get a call from the big boss.

"Can you come speak to me in my office please." He says, not asking and I know what I'm in for.

I sigh then stand up, straightening my outfit. Today I picked a classic office look. Pencil skirt and blouse with a cardigan. My flats are my around the office shoes, otherwise I wear varying heights of heels to work every day. I quickly grab the extra coffee I got incase of this happening and head up to the 6th floor. Walk past his secretary with a nod and smile I head straight into his office with a gently knock on the glass door before walking in.

"Hey." I say coyly, standing a few feet behind him as he does his dramatic stair out the window before turning to me, look. On cue he turns to me and I raise to coffee up between our faces and smile softly. "For you." He takes it and looks at it, and sighs.

"Take a seat Miss. Nicoles." He says placing the coffee beside his computer and looking at me as he leans against his desk. I sit promptly and look up to him. "I see you were late today."

"Yes, but it was only by a few minutes. They took a bit longer making the coffees today." I say glancing down.

"I see." He says looking down at me. "We'll lets not make habits of this. I don't want you late, you're learning how to properly account here and I need you here for every minute of your shift, if not a bit longer, seeing as you are fresh out with no real prior experience."

I sigh. "Yes I'm here as much as I can be."

He shakes his head slightly, pursing his lips a bit. "Well I got more paper work to send your way, might as well take this down with you." He stands and starts to walk around his desk to grab a stack. "I'll be sending the rest to your email once you've processed these. Make sure you let me know when you do." He pushes a small stack towards me and sits. I stand and grab them, giving a small smile and heading back down.

I look over the papers casually in the elevator and see that this stack is all the ones that I need to fix the issues I've found so far. He's doing this very deliberately and it annoys me, but I have to stick it out to keep my job and learn  anything. Getting to my desk I grab my headset and start my music, and my day.
