Chapter 10 Part II

Chapter 10 (Part II):

"Okay Chase, what are we doing today?" I asked, while sipping my strawberry lemonade.

I saw Chase smile, and reach under the table to reveal a .. backpack?

"Chase, wh-"

"Jae, just look inside okay," he said while pushing the bag towards me.

I unzipped the backpack and saw a pair of tennis shoes, mine to be exact. I looked up at Chase, a bit confused on how he had them. He never ceases to amaze me.

He was just returning to our table, I didn't even notice he had gone.

"Come on, let's get going." He walked over to my side and held his hand out.

I zipped the backpack up and stood up. I slung the backpack over my shoulder and took his hand.

He led us to a jeep outside of the restaurant we just had lunch in. He walked me to my door and opened it. I threw the backpack on the backseat then jumped in.

Chase looked over at me, and smiled. "You ready?" I nodded and put my seatbelt on.

"Oh and Jae, you might want to put your tennis shoes on," He said with a smirk.

"Oh my God! It's beautiful up here!" I exclaimed, I couldn't believe my eyes.

"I thought you'd like it," Chase said before he poured water down his gorgeous body. Woah, where'd that come from? I thought to myself.

I shook my head and ran towards the water, it really was beautiful out here. I'm happy I came, this is just what I needed.

Chase had surprised me after lunch by driving us on the Pali highway to a secluded area. We parked and he told me we were going on a little hike.

We walked for about 10 minutes until we saw a group of people. They were hiking the trail with us but we got there later than expected.

The tour guide smiled and waved at us and said we were taking a different route today. Within the next 15 minutes we were at our first stop on the hike, and it was beautiful.

Kapena Falls. This 25 foot waterfall was something to remember. The water looked like crystals as they fell from the top.

"Hey, what are you thinking about?" Chase asked, coming up behind me and placing his arm around my shoulders.

"Just how peaceful it is out here. It makes me love this place even more," I responded while wrapping my arms around his waist and leaning into his shoulder.

"I know! I love it here. When I was younger and we had family vacations here, the boys and I would always come to this waterfall."

"Really? So you guys would always come on this tour just for the waterfall?" I asked.

"No, it's like a 15 minute walk from where we parked but the tour guide said he'd be willing to stop here for us."

"Thanks Chase, I love it."

He smiled and pulled me towards the waterfall with him. The other people that were with us were already cooling off in the water.

The walk was only 15 minutes but it was so hot. A dip in the water seemed like the best thing.

I took my shorts and tank off and placed them on my backpack. I pulled my phone out and quickly took a picture of the waterfall.

"Hey Chase, come here," I said, waving him over. I turned to our tour guide and asked him to take our picture.

"Jae, you okay?" He asked running to my side.

I handed the tour guide my phone, "Yeah I'm fine, I just wanted to take a picture."

Chase looked surprised, he swung his arm over my shoulder and I wrapped mine around his waist.

I heard the tour guide count to three and take our picture. I looked up and smiled at Chase, "Thanks for this Chase, you are am-"

I was interrupted by Chase placing his lips over mine and kissing me.

He pulled away and I couldn't help but smile. The tour guide came and handed my phone to me, I thanked him for taking our picture.

I turned and saw Chase already in the water, so I threw my phone in my bag and jumped in.

I rushed into my room and jumped on my bed. I heard Chase
come in and laugh at me.

"I'm so exhausted!" I said.

"Me too!" I heard him say as he fell on the bed next to me.

I rolled around until I was facing the ceiling. Chase did the same thing.

I laid there thinking about the events that took place today. The hike to Kapena Falls was amazing.

After that stop we continued to the top. We would stop at certain places and could see the beauty of the island.

We finally got to the top of our hike and Chase surprised me with a candle lit picnic for the two of us. Today was amazing, he was amazing.

I was happy we went on that hike, it seemed as if Chase was opening up to me. He would tell stories of his childhood when they were there for family vacation.

He even told me that he loves hiking because it gives him a time to actually think about life and everything.

I turned to see Chase staring at the ceiling with a smile on his face.

I leaned over and kissed his cheek, "Thanks Chase, for everything. Today couldn't have been better."

He looked at me with sincerity in his eyes. "You're welcome Jae, thank you for making today perfect."

He got up and pulled me into a hug. "Goodnight Jae, I'll see you in the morning."

He walked towards the door that separated our rooms. I turned to grab my phone and felt Chase grab my arm and turn me around.

"Chase wh-"

He kissed me so tenderly, it was as if it wasn't real. Then he deepened the kiss and pulled away. He left me breathless.

"Now that's a goodnight kiss. Night!" Chase said with a wink as he walked to his room.

My hands touched my lips, and I couldn't help but feel butterflies. I fell onto my bed feeling .. in love. I drifted off into a blissful sleep dreaming of Chase and that kiss.
