prologue

Life was a beauty. People were always talking with each other and loved playing no matter what age they were, and everyone enjoyed life as it was except a few who liked causing trouble here and there. I was on my way to a cosy hotel in California for a nice break from work. There have been a lot of reports on murders in New York latley and I just had to get away from it. It has been giving me a lot of traumatizing nightmares in the past week. My best friend Daniel tagged along with me.

"Hey, Trinity, where you at. The Chinese food is here, and they gave us free drinks!" Daniel yelled from downstairs as the door was closing.

I came rushing down and nearly fell on the floor, but he caught me just as I tripped the last couple of steps.

He held me for a few seconds before we both realised how he was holding me. Slightly embarrassed I got up and settled into a seat at the table as Daniel got some plates and served the food.

I smiled at him as he handed me my plate. After a few minutes I asked him a question in a sweetly innocent tone,"hey Daniel,why did you come to California with me if you have work in New York? I mean I love it that I can have a break with my best friend I am just curious."

He took a little while to realise what I had asked." Well I..um... Look you know how I have been meaning to see my parents..." I nodded as he continued," well they live in California... Just on the other side of town actually so that is why I asked if I could come with you, not to be a nag."

I smiled in awe on how much he loves his parents.

The next day, Daniel left to see his parents and I stayed at the hotel for a bit before heading to the beach and block away.

I was expecting a nice day up until all that changed in a matter of a few hours..........
