The year was 1944 we had just been assigned "operation overload" Hitler had refused to surrender so they shipped us out immediately we had no idea of what were being put up to we were coming up upon the beach of Normandy the whole length of the beach was spoted with bloody and paved with the lifeless body of american soldiers killed by Nazi troops we landed on the straight middle of that deadly beach we knew something was up but we had no choice the doors slammed down and right there every man standing in front of me was shot down with a machine gun. Mr. Private Johnson stood cold and pale with a hole the size of my fist in his chest he was still stood there as if he didn't know what hit him. he fell to the floor as we trampled out of that boat we were all terrified hundreds of soldiers died within a matter of what seemed like seconds I walked the length of the beach I bewildered of what I just witnessed I thought if we rushed the bunker they wouldn't be able to hit us but was wrong as soon as they saw us coming they mowed down men like they were blades of grass one of the privets hit me right off my feet i was luck if he hadn't i'd be dead the Nazi did a search for any survivors but didn't see me due to the men piled on top of me they retreaded to there bunker for safety.
